A slow-moving high over southern Australia will create a ridge extending across the state. This high will move towards the Tasman Sea on Tuesday or Wednesday while still maintaining the ridge. On Tuesday, an upper trough will cross the state and move offshore on Wednesday, possibly leading to increased showers near the east coast.

First of all check out the activity near the Solomon Islands, an area to watch during the up-coming wet season.
Monday: Expect showers along the North Tropical Coast and some parts of the east coast. The Torres Strait will also see isolated showers. Southeast will be partly cloudy while the rest of the areas will mostly be sunny. Inland areas in the south and central districts may experience morning frost. Maximum temperatures will be near average in the northwest but below average in other areas. Minimum temperatures will be near average north of Townsville but below average in other regions.
Tuesday: Tuesday: Eastern districts and the Torres Strait may experience isolated to scattered showers. The rest of the region will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will be near average in the southwest but below average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures will be near average in the northwest but below average elsewhere.
Wednesday: North Tropical Coast: Isolated to scattered showers. Rest of East Coast and Torres Strait: Isolated showers. Cape York Peninsula: Partly cloudy. Everywhere else: Mostly sunny. Temperatures: Above average in the southwest, near average in the southeast, below average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures: Near average in southwest and northwest, below average elsewhere.
Thursday: Isolated showers in the North Tropical Coast and rest of the east coast, becoming scarce north of Mackay. Partly cloudy in Cape York Peninsula, mostly sunny elsewhere. Maximum temperatures above average south of Longreach, very high in the southern interior, and below average elsewhere. Minimum temperatures above average in the southwest, average in the southeast, and below average elsewhere.
