National
There is a low-pressure trough over Western Australia that is causing storm activity in the area. Additionally, there is a low-pressure system north of WA that has the potential to develop into a tropical low, which is something to keep an eye on. The trough located in New South Wales is also expected to bring stormy weather to the northeast part of the state. Meanwhile, a new high-pressure system that has merged in the Tasman Sea is expected to move away and take the remaining rain away from the Cape York Peninsula. Overall, these weather patterns suggest that there may be significant storm activity in parts of Australia, and people in these areas should stay informed about local weather conditions..
State
Mostly cloudy skies are expected to persist throughout the day in the eastern parts of the state, keeping temperatures lower than usual. The southeastern parts of the state will experience higher humidity levels. In terms of specific temperatures, Cairns is predicted to reach a high of 28°C, Townsville and Mackay both 29°C, Mount Isa 32°C, and Charters Towers 31°C. It's important to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun if you're going to be outdoors in these warmer areas.
Today, the rain on the east coast of the Peninsula is expected to ease back, while showers along the North Queensland tropical coast will be less frequent, with some isolated showers still possible. The convergence of airflow has shifted from Bundaberg to Rockhampton, and is expected to continue moving slowly north throughout the day. There is a chance of storms developing inland to the west of Charleville as a trough moves eastward. The remaining possible storms are located at the northernmost part of the Peninsula. Stay updated on the weather conditions in your area, especially if you're planning to travel or engage in outdoor activities.
4-day
The continued main feature for the next 4 days is the trough moving across the state and as it gets closer more storm activity for the SE of QLD and NE NSW. The rain at the top end easing back as the monsoon pulse arrives from the West.
