National

Showers and storms covering northern WA, the NT, central AUS, and northern QLD. Showers and possible storms in parts of SA and NSW. Showers with brisk winds in TAS. VIC expected to remain dry due to a high-pressure system.

A high over New Zealand will bring rain on Saturday. Southeasterly winds will weaken on Sunday. A trough will move across Queensland on the weekend. A new high near Tasmania will bring more rain next week.

  • Saturday: Scattered showers and storms in north/west Queensland, showers in east Cairns to Mackay, isolated inland storms south of Roma. Mostly clear elsewhere. Light-mod northeast/southeast winds, variable in south interior.

  • Sunday: Some showers and storms in southern and northwestern Queensland, mainly dry in eastern areas. Showers in the southern interior. Chance of severe storms in southern Queensland. Sunny in most areas. Near average temps in the north, above average elsewhere.

  • Monday: Sunny in southwest, showers and storms elsewhere with some areas getting only showers, frequent showers in parts of eastern Queensland south of Rockhampton. Temps above average in southwest and Capricornia coast, near average elsewhere.

  • Tuesday: Far southwest mostly sunny, isolated showers elsewhere with higher temps in southwest.



North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Max temperature 33, min temperature 19, wind speed 15-25 km/h east to southeasterly becoming light, rainfall high chance of showers near coast, medium chance elsewhere, partly cloudy with chance of thunderstorm.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Maximum temperature around 30, minimum temperature 19-23, wind becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, medium chance of showers, partly cloudy.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

The weather will be partly cloudy with a max temperature of around 30°C, a min temperature overnight of 19-23°C, winds east to southeasterly 15-25 km/h shifting to east to northeasterly before becoming light in the evening, and a medium chance of showers in the late morning and afternoon, with overnight temperatures falling to between 19-23°C.

Peninsula:

Partly cloudy with high chance of showers, thunderstorm, east to southeasterly winds 15-25 km/h, temperatures: low to mid 20s overnight, low to mid 30s daytime.

Gulf Country:

Maximum temperature in the low to mid 30s, minimum temperature in the mid 20s, light winds, partly cloudy with medium chance of showers near the south coast, slight chance elsewhere, chance of a thunderstorm, no rainfall.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Max temperature: low to mid 30s; Min temperature: between 19 and 22; Wind speed: easterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light later; Wind direction: easterly; Rainfall: slight chance of a shower in the southeast, near zero chance elsewhere; Other: Partly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorm in the north early morning.

Capricornia:

The weather will be hot with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s, light winds becoming northeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the late afternoon, overnight temperatures falling to between 17 and 22, and 'Sunny'.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The weather will be sunny with light winds, overnight temperatures falling to around 20, daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s, wind speed and direction not specified, and no rainfall expected.

Central West:

Mid to high 30s, 20 to 25, 15 to 25 km/h, east to northeasterly, None, Sunny.

North West:

The maximum temperature for the day is expected to reach the mid to high 30s and temperatures overnight will fall to the low to mid 20s, with light winds becoming easterly at 15 to 25 km/h before becoming light, with a chance of thunderstorms near the Northern Territory border in the early morning, and mostly sunny conditions throughout the day.

Channel Country:

Maximum temperature: 43°C, Minimum temperature: 24°C, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: Northeast to southeasterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of showers, Mostly sunny with a chance of thunderstorms.

Maranoa and Warrego:

High of 43°C, low of 22°C, wind speed of 15-20 km/h, winds shifting from northwest to northeasterly and later becoming northeast to southeasterly, chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

Max temperature: 40°C, Min temperature: 17°C, Wind speed: 20 km/h, Wind direction: North to northwesterly, Rainfall: Near zero chance, Forecast: Mostly sunny with fog in the Granite Belt early morning, chance of showers in south late afternoon with a thunderstorm in the late morning.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

Overnight temperatures falling to between 17 and 20, with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s, light winds becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h, sunny with minimal rainfall.

Southeast Coast:

Sunny day with temperatures reaching low to mid 30s, light winds becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h, chance of thunderstorm in the south late afternoon and evening, with overnight temperatures falling to 17-21.
