National
The Satellite image is showing that the low out towards New Caledonia is increasing in cloud coverage. We still have a High over the Tasman moving slowly now towards New Zealand and the low near New Caledonia. Still some riding along the QLD coast which will reduce the chance of rain today. Not a lot of rain in the national radar.
State
I have marked the ridge with the light blue arrow over the Far North QLD coast near Cairns and Mackay indicating riding all down the QLD coast to various degrees. This means the rain tends to move parallel to the coast. Temperatures are on the rise again with humidity maxing out today. Just the light showers along the Far North tropical coast and only isolated storms possible today mainly around the Gulf.
NQ
Light showers around mainly for the Far NQ coastline North of Townsville. Some inland showers around the Goldfields likely due to possible storms or inland ridging. Later this evening the showers shift and become more steady North of and including Innisfail.
4-day
We can now clearly see what everyone has been speculating about with the droning echos of we're doomed, Miss Jane spaghetti maps and donkeys pinning the tail on the public and tool men chickens running about saying the sky will fall. We have a rain depression moving towards QLD. While this is just the first part, it meets up with the wet season post series stating that a gathering of cloud around the top end of Australia will happen just prior to the monsoon pulse arriving again. So more warm humid conditions but staying to the North mainly, apart from the humidity.

Many don't realise the time spent on bringing a forecast by the major institutions like the BOM, ECWMF and NCEP. Add to that the time it takes for someone to add their analysis and add that to an app. That's the middleman. What I am aiming to do is put you into the analysis seat, and equip you with what you need, in order to understand and work out what you think the forecast will be. Use free apps, they are awesome. Windy, Weatherzone, Metoelogix, tropical tidbits, ncep, whatever, they are free.
So now you know what I do, it does cost me to save you time and bring you the most up-to-date way of getting your forecast. So to support me you don't need to subscribe to an app, just take out an annual shout. And in return, I give you some extra training. $5 for those that just want to know the basics, $55 for those that want to learn more in-depth. http://wallysweather.com.au/yourshout
