The weather for the Country Fest is looking fine for the 2 days, 0mm rainfall forecast at the moment. I will keep you updated.
Monsoon Update
TC Megan has developed in the Gulf of Carpentaria. You can find updates on Megan's path and advice through the Tropical Cyclone Advice and Track Map linked in the yellow banner above. Additionally, there's a Severe Weather Warning and Flood Watch in effect. Currently categorized as a Category 1 cyclone, Megan is located east of Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Forecast suggests Megan will intensify to Category 3 before making landfall along the southwest coast of the Gulf, likely on Monday. After reaching land, Megan is expected to weaken rapidly and move westward across the Northern Territory as a tropical low.
Meanwhile 08U appears to have weakened with the Monsoon pulse having moved on to the Northern region where TC Megan is located. We should see some tropical low development over the next week in the Coral Sea, however with the strong cooler drier winds from the South, things won't be as suitable for cyclone development. There could be some short sharp storms around as the systems move about and troughs cross the coastline for the FNQ coast and possible the NQ coast.
The circulating air on the Northern side of the trough should build a tropical low within a week. The converging winds will produce heavy rain North of Cairns.
Pink concerts in Townsville look to be expecting light showers for the Friday and heavier showers on the Sunday. However, I am expecting things to change daily. It all depends on the low pressure system forming to the North of Townsville over the next 4 days.
Easter looks to be starting with showers, possibly heavy rain on the Thursday, then fine over the weekend into Monday.
National
Intense rain, storms, and winds will occur in the tropics and northwest WA due to active monsoon lows and a tropical cyclone. In humid and unstable winds, showers and storms are expected to spread across QLD, Vic, and NSW. Meanwhile, WA's south and west will experience scattered showers and storms in less unstable conditions.

State
The monsoon trough will bring increased rainfall to North and Far North Queensland as it moves southward for several days. Tropical Cyclone Megan is expected to move south over the weekend with potential for further development before reaching the southern Gulf coast next week. Showery winds along the east coast will push moisture inland, with a weak trough possible in inland southern Queensland early next week.
