Peak of the storms - And movement around the low pressure system

National

Troughs and lows are expected to bring showers and thunderstorms to various regions, including parts of WA, the NT's Top End, QLD, and NSW, with some potentially intense activity. The same troughs and lows will contribute to maintaining heat in the western and northern interior. High-pressure systems will result in dry conditions across much of the central, southern interior, and southeast of the country.

State

A weak trough and upper level system will bring showers and thunderstorms to central Queensland and eastern districts. The trough will be slow-moving near the southern Queensland coast. A weak ridge will persist along the east coast, strengthening slightly. A complex trough over central to western Queensland will retreat to the far west for most of the week. The troughs will weaken as an upper trough moves offshore. A high pressure ridge will extend along much of the Queensland coast midweek, possibly strengthening by next weekend.
