Showers and storms expected in WA's north and interior, NT, and QLD's north and west.

Hot winds to sweep across SW QLD, NSW, and eastern VIC. Moist and unstable winds likely to trigger showers and storms over NSW, SA, and WA's south. Moist winds and a front will bring showers to TAS.

  • Saturday: Northern Queensland and coastal Gulf: Scattered showers, thunderstorms. East coast north of Ingham: Showers likely. Southern interior: Isolated showers, thunderstorms. Elsewhere: Mostly sunny. High temps vary.

  • Sunday: Showers and storms in far north QLD & Gulf. Scattered showers in east, widespread along east coast. Showers and storms in south and southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temps above average in south/central, below average in northwest.



North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Max temperature: 32°C, Min temperature: 20°C, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: Showers likely, Other: Cloudy with chance of thunderstorm and flash flooding risk.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Partly cloudy with high chance of showers in the north and medium chance elsewhere, chance of severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, light winds becoming southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h early, temperatures falling to low to mid 20s overnight and reaching 28 to 33 during the day.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Max temperature: around 30, Min temperature: low to mid 20s, Wind speed: 20 to 30 km/h, Wind direction: east to southeasterly, Rainfall: slight chance of showers, Other: Partly cloudy, near zero chance of rain elsewhere.

Peninsula:

Partly cloudy day with high chance of showers and thunderstorms, light winds becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, temperatures ranging from low to mid 20s overnight to low to mid 30s during the day.

Gulf Country:

High of mid 30s, low of mid 20s, light winds, possibly severe thunderstorm, showers likely from late morning, partly cloudy.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Partly cloudy with high chance of showers in the north, medium chance elsewhere, possible severe thunderstorm, easterly winds 15-25 km/h becoming light in the late evening, max temp in low to mid 30s, min temp in low to mid 20s.

Capricornia:

The weather will be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 19-23°C overnight and reaching the low to mid-30s during the day, accompanied by east to southeasterly winds at 15-20 km/h becoming light later on.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Mostly sunny with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s, light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, overnight temperatures falling to around 20, minimum temperature not mentioned, and no rainfall expected.

Central West:

Max temperature: low to high 30s; Min temperature: low to mid 20s; Wind speed: east to northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h becoming light; Wind direction: east to northeasterly, then becoming northeasterly; Rainfall: Slight chance of a shower in the northwest, near zero elsewhere; Other: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a thunderstorm west of Longreach in the morning and afternoon.

North West:

High chance of showers with thunderstorms, severe possibly, in the late morning and afternoon. Winds turning from northeasterly to easterly, reaching speeds of 15-25 km/h and 15-20 km/h, respectively. Temps falling to low-mid 20s overnight, with daytime high in low 30s.

Channel Country:

Max temperature: 42°C, Min temperature: 20°C, Wind: N to NE 20-30 km/h becoming light, Rainfall: Low chance with possible thunderstorms, Summary: Mostly sunny with showers likely in northwest.

Maranoa and Warrego:

Max temperature: 36-42°C, Min temperature: 21-28°C, Wind speed: 15-25 km/h turning easterly 15-20 km/h in the late morning and early afternoon then becoming light, Wind direction: North to northeasterly, Rainfall: Little or no, Other: Sunny morning, Chance of thunderstorm near NSW border in the afternoon and evening.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

Highs of 32-38°C, lows of 18-23°C, wind N-NE at 15-20 km/h, chance of fog, medium showers in Granite Belt, near zero rainfall elsewhere, possible thunderstorm near NSW border.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

The maximum temperature will reach the low to mid 30s with the minimum temperature between 18 and 22, light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h and then light, mostly sunny with a chance of fog in the south in the early morning and no rainfall expected.

Southeast Coast:

Mostly sunny with fog inland in the early morning, light winds, temperatures falling to 18-22 overnight and reaching low 30s during the day, no rainfall, wind speed and direction not specified.
