National

Showers along the eastern seaboard due to humid onshore winds. Showers and storms expected in QLD, the NT, and far north WA. Dry, hot, gusty winds across the southeast before a cooler change, likely bringing isolated showers and storms. A high-pressure system will bring clear conditions to WA's south.

Northern Queensland has a humid airmass causing showers and storms. Heatwave in southern Queensland as southeasterly winds bring heavy rain before moving northwards. New trough brings showers and storms over southern Queensland late in the weekend, easing heatwave early next week.

  • Wednesday: Scattered storms north of Longreach, possibly severe with heavy rain. Showers expected in Central Coast and Whitsundays with isolated showers in the southeast. Clear skies in southwest and south interior with light to moderate winds mostly from southeast to northeasterly.

  • Thursday: Northern and western Queensland: Scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms. Heavy falls in the north interior and far west. Widespread showers with heavy rain possible Cairns to Cardwell. Isolated showers in east to Bundaberg. Showers and thunderstorms in far southern interior and Granite Belt. Mostly sunny in southeast, southern, and central interior. High temperatures in the south, low in the northwest.

  • Friday: Showers and storms in northern QLD, some lingering in east. Sunny in central QLD, temperatures above average in south, below in northwest.

  • Saturday: Scattered showers and isolated storms in northern Queensland and Gulf Country, lingering showers in eastern districts, some storms in the southern interior, mostly sunny elsewhere. High temperatures in the south, lower in the northwest.



North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

The weather forecast for tomorrow: Max temperature of 32°C, min temperature in the low 20s, easterly winds at 15-20 km/h, high chance of showers, a thunderstorm possible, and overnight temperatures in the low to mid 20s.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Maximum temperature around 30°C, minimum temperature in the low to mid 20s, wind starting light and becoming easterly 15-25 km/h, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the late morning and afternoon.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Maximum temperature around 30 with winds easterly 20 to 30 km/h, partly cloudy with high chance of showers and thunderstorms in the north, slight chance elsewhere, risk of heavy rainfall and temperatures falling to low to mid 20s overnight.

Peninsula:

Highs in the low to mid 30s, lows in the low to mid 20s, light winds with a high chance of showers, possible thunderstorms, and partly cloudy skies expected.

Gulf Country:

Highs in the low to mid 30s, lows in the mid 20s, light winds becoming northeasterly, chance of showers, chance of severe thunderstorm, and cloudy conditions.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Max temperature in the low to mid 30s, min temperature in the low to mid 20s, winds becoming light, high chance of showers likely from late morning, possible severe thunderstorm, and partly cloudy.

Capricornia:

The weather will be hot with daytime temperatures in the low to mid 30s, winds starting from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h, becoming light before dawn, then shifting to easterly at 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, with overnight temperatures dropping to between 19 and 24 and sunny conditions.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Maximum temperature: low to mid 30s; Minimum temperature: low 20s; Wind: easterly 15 to 25 km/h; Rainfall: near zero chance of rain; Other: Mostly sunny with a slight chance of a shower in the northwest and a chance of thunderstorm.

Central West:

Max temperature: 37°C, Min temperature: Low to mid 20s, Wind: Northeasterly 25 to 35 km/h, Rainfall: Near zero chance, Other: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers north of Longreach and a possibility of thunderstorms.

North West:

Max temperature: low 30s; Min temperature: mid 20s; Wind: northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the evening; Rainfall: high chance of showers, likely from late morning; Other: Cloudy with chance of severe thunderstorm in the north.

Channel Country:

Max temperature of 42, min temperature of 30, wind speed of 25-35 km/h, wind direction from north to northeasterly, chance of showers with possible thunderstorm, and "Partly cloudy."

Maranoa and Warrego:

Max temperature: 41°C, Min temperature: 21°C, Wind speed: 15-30 km/h, Wind direction: N to NE to E, Rainfall: Little or no, Sunny morning with chance of thunderstorm near NSW border later.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

The weather forecast for today includes a maximum temperature of 37°C, a minimum temperature of 18°C, wind speeds of 15 to 25 km/h from the east to northeast, light winds later, no significant rainfall, and it will be sunny throughout the day.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

Mostly sunny with low 30s daytime temperatures, light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h, chance of a shower along the coastal fringe, overnight temperatures between 18 and 21.

Southeast Coast:

Max temperature: 30°C, Min temperature: 18-22°C, Wind speed: Light becoming SE 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: Easterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of a shower, Other: Partly cloudy.
