Troughs will bring showers and storms to the northern tropics, with isolated storms in western and southern Queensland, while drawing heat towards the west. Onshore winds around a trough are expected to bring gusty showers over coastal New South Wales. Clear and settled conditions are anticipated elsewhere under the influence of high pressure.

State

An inland trough will bring unsettled conditions to northwestern Queensland and the west of the state. It will slowly move east next week. A ridge will persist over eastern Queensland, causing showers on the east coast. A weak trough across the Peninsula and Gulf of Carpentaria will likely persist and may deepen next week, possibly leading to monsoonal conditions in the far north.
