Heavy rain and showers are expected in southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales due to humid winds. Far north Queensland and northeast Northern Territory will experience showers and storms because of unstable winds. Western Tasmania and the southern part of Western Australia will see light showers caused by onshore winds surrounding a high-pressure system. Everywhere else will remain dry due to high-pressure conditions.

  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers on east coast. More showers in North Tropical Coast. Chance of thunderstorm in far north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temperatures near average.

  • Thursday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers on east coast, sunny elsewhere. Chance of thunderstorm in north. Temps below average in west, near average elsewhere.

  • Strong winds expected along WA's coast, including Local, Ningaloo, Gascoyne Coast, Geraldton, Lancelin, Perth, Bunbury Geographe, Leeuwin, Albany, and Esperance on Monday.

  • Hervey Bay, Sunshine Coast Waters, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast Waters, Townsville, Mackay, Capricornia, and K'gari coasts in QLD also under Strong Wind Warning.

  • Hazardous surf conditions anticipated for Sunshine Coast Waters and K'gari Coast in QLD on Monday.

  • Arafura Coast in NT under Strong Wind Warning, while Gove Peninsula and Roper Groote coasts have their warnings canceled.

  • Byron Coast in NSW/ACT facing a Strong Wind Warning.

  • Frost Warning for Upper South East in SA.

  • Gale Warnings issued for various areas in NSW/ACT, including Western, Southern, and Southeastern regions.

  • Flood Watch for Northern and Eastern Cape York Peninsula in QLD.

  • Minor Flood Warning for the Narran River in NSW/ACT.

Enhanced rainfall in Queensland from upper low and trough today, moving offshore Monday. High pressure system extending ridge, moving eastward over Great Australian Bight. Slow eastward movement to Tasman Sea, with weak trough mid-week. New high in Bight by late week, reinforcing ridge. Slow-moving low in Coral Sea enhances winds and swells in southern and central Queensland, moving east mid-week.

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers along the coastal fringe in the evening, with east to southeasterly winds 15 to 30 km/h, temperatures overnight falling to 13-22°C and daytime highs in the mid to high 20s.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

The weather forecast includes maximum temperature around 30, minimum temperature between 13 and 17, wind speed increasing from 15 to 20 km/h to 20 to 30 km/h, wind direction shifting from south to southeasterly to east to southeasterly, and a chance of rainfall with partly cloudy skies.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Max temperature: 29°C, Min temperature: 15°C, Wind speed: 25-40 km/h, Wind direction: Southerly turning southeasterly, Rainfall: Chance of showers, Weather: Partly cloudy.

Peninsula:

Max temperature in the low 30s with overnight minimum in the low to mid 20s, light winds becoming east to southeasterly 20-30 km/h early in the morning, Partly cloudy with medium chance of showers north of Weipa and slight chance elsewhere, chance of a thunderstorm north of Coen.

Gulf Country:

Max temperature in the low 30s, min temperature 15-21, wind speeds starting at 15-25 km/h from the SE, becoming stronger at 25-35 km/h from ESE, then easing in the late afternoon, with no rainfall and sunny skies.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

The weather will be mostly sunny with daytime temperatures ranging from 27 to 32 degrees, southeasterly winds at 15 to 25 km/h turning easterly at 25 to 35 km/h, and overnight temperatures dropping to 12 to 17 degrees.

Capricornia:

The weather forecast includes maximum temperatures in the mid to high 20s, minimum temperatures between 14 and 18, southeasterly winds at 15 to 25 km/h increasing to 25 to 40 km/h in the morning and decreasing later, with a slight chance of showers near the coast in the early morning and near zero chance of rain elsewhere, along with partly cloudy skies.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The weather forecast includes a max temperature of 30°C, a min temperature of 12°C, southeasterly winds at 25-40 km/h, and a likelihood of partly cloudy conditions with rainfall.

Central West:

The weather forecast for tomorrow includes a maximum temperature of 30°C, minimum temperature of 14°C, wind speeds increasing from 15 to 35 km/h with a southeasterly to easterly direction, and mostly sunny conditions with no rainfall expected.
