Showers and storms are sweeping across QLD, the Top End, and the eastern interior of the NT, along with the northern and eastern regions of NSW, driven by unstable winds. Meanwhile, TAS and southern VIC are experiencing showers under cool winds. The rest of the area remains mostly dry and settled, thanks to high pressure, except for western WA, where hot and dry winds are prevailing.

  • Tuesday: Scattered showers in eastern areas, chance of thunderstorms in northern and southeastern regions, mostly clear in southwest. Wind directions vary.

  • Thursday: Mostly sunny in western Queensland. Showers scattered elsewhere, becoming widespread at times in the southeast. Storms - Weather Warnings - Fire danger

State

High over Tasman Sea weakening, ridge over east state. Weak trough moving east, high extending ridge over state. Possible rainfall enhancement in southeast and central coastal areas over weekend. Weak low may form over northern Gulf of Carpentaria, tropical low forming in Coral Sea with low chance of cyclone. No direct impacts on Queensland mainland expected.

Maximum temperature: 30°C, Minimum temperature: 19°C, Wind speed: 25-35 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: Medium chance of showers, Conditions: Partly cloudy.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

The weather forecast includes a maximum temperature of around 30 degrees, minimum temperature overnight between 19 and 23 degrees, light winds becoming easterly at 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, easing in the evening, and there is a slight chance of a shower with partly cloudy conditions.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Maximum temperature: 31°C, Minimum temperature: 19°C, Wind speed: 20-30 km/h from east to southeasterly direction, Rainfall: Medium chance of showers in the south, slight chance elsewhere, Other: Partly cloudy with overnight temperatures falling to between 19-22°C.

Peninsula:

Tomorrow's weather forecast includes maximum temperature in the low to mid 30s, with minimum temperatures falling to the low to mid 20s, east to southeasterly winds 25-35 km/h, partly cloudy conditions, medium chance of showers and thunderstorms north of Coen, near zero chance of rain elsewhere.

Gulf Country:

Expected weather: Max temperature in the low to mid 30s, min temperature in the low to mid 20s, wind speed starting light and increasing to 20-30 km/h, wind direction shifting from east to southeasterly, slight chance of a morning shower, chance of a thunderstorm, and partly cloudy skies.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

The weather will have daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s, with overnight temperatures falling to between 18 and 22, winds easterly 20 to 30 km/h, and partly cloudy conditions with no rainfall expected.

Capricornia:

The weather for today will have a maximum temperature of around 30 degrees with minimum temperatures dropping to 16-21 degrees overnight, with east to southeasterly winds at 15-25 km/h easing in the evening, with a medium chance of showers mainly in the morning and afternoon, and partly cloudy skies.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The weather will be mostly sunny with a maximum temperature of around 30°C, a minimum temperature between 15-20°C, light winds becoming easterly 15-25 km/h, a medium chance of showers mainly in the late morning, and overnight temperatures falling to 15-20°C.

Central West:

Maximum temperature in the low to mid 30s, minimum temperature between 17 and 21, light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h, slight chance of a shower, partly cloudy conditions with overnight temperatures falling.

North West:

The weather will have maximum temperatures in the low to mid 30s, minimum temperatures in the low 20s, southeasterly winds at 15 to 25 km/h becoming light in the evening, a slight chance of a shower, and partly cloudy conditions with overnight temperatures falling to the low 20s.

Channel Country:

Max temperature: low to mid 30s, Min temperature: 17-21, Wind speed: 15-30 km/h, Wind direction: South to southeasterly, Rainfall: Sunny morning with chance of thunderstorm in southeast later.

Maranoa and Warrego:

Maximum temperature around 30, minimum temperature between 15-19, light winds, partly cloudy with medium chance of showers near NSW border and slight chance elsewhere, chance of thunderstorm in the south.

Darling Downs and Granite Belt:

Highs in the high 20s, lows between 13 and 17, light winds, partly cloudy with chance of fog in the far east in the early morning, high chance of showers over the Granite Belt and slight chance elsewhere, chance of thunderstorm in the south.

Wide Bay and Burnett:

Max temperature in the mid to high 20s, min temperature between 14 and 19, wind becoming easterly 15-20 km/h, partly cloudy with medium chance of showers in late morning and afternoon, light winds becoming easterly and then light, rainfall expected.

Southeast Coast:

Max temperature in the mid to high 20s, min temperature between 14 and 18, light winds, partly cloudy with chance of fog in the south in the early morning, medium chance of showers likely from late morning, chance of a thunderstorm in the south, and overnight temperatures falling to between 14 and 18.
