A trough is hanging around in the northwest to central interior, slowly inching its way westward, while a ridge in the east is holding strong and getting even stronger as a high creeps into the Tasman Sea, with the possibility of a trough forming in the far north Coral Sea and a weak tropical low potentially making an appearance in the northwestern Coral Sea before heading off into the sunset over the weekend.
Forecast for Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Looks like we've got a classic case of sunshine with a side of potential showers later in the day. Don't forget your umbrella, just in case! Expect some light breezes in the early afternoon, but they'll be taking a nap by evening. Overnight, things will cool down to a comfortable 19-23 degrees, while daytime temperatures will be sizzling in the low 30s. Time to break out the sunscreen and maybe a popsicle or two!

Monsoon Special:
The next monsoon pulse due in Phase 6 (Gulf to Coral Sea) around the 26th March to 2nd April. Due to the 3rd pulse normally being weak, it tends to come around quicker so could be a week earlier.
For now we have a new low potentially developing by Saturday 900km ENE from Cairns. It is then expected to move away to the SE until around the 26th. Then we need to see what the High pressure system is doing near Victoria. There are two, the gap between them allows the low to slip SW towards the coast.
Below are the three forecasts for Saturday, and then the expected movement by ACCESS G by the 26th. Winds expected to get to 26knots on Saturday along the coast arpound Whitsundays to Cardwell.
