Looks like we're in for a classic case of "where did I put my umbrella" weather today! Cloudy skies with a super high chance of rain and even a thunderstorm thrown in for good measure. Don't be surprised if you see some heavy falls - both raindrops and maybe a few clumsy pedestrians slipping on wet pavement. Light winds will be playing hide and seek throughout the day, starting off as a gentle breeze and then disappearing into thin air by evening. Overnight, temperatures will be dropping to the low 20s, so make sure to grab a cozy blanket before hitting the hay. Another sweep by the monsoon trough past Townsville later today, as the low out in the Coral Sea moves ESE it will drag the monsoon over Townsville again. and rain of 5 to 20mm, the Access C shows heavier maybe 10 to 30mm. Tomorrow the air starts flowing from the equator direct into the monsoon trough so looks like at this stage tomorrow the rain will increase.
