National Synoptic Situation

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Hold onto your hats, Queenslanders! A wimpy ridge is hanging out along the east coast, while a trough is snaking its way from the Gulf Country through the central interior and down to southeastern Queensland and offshore waters. This trough is feeling ambitious and planning to head north in the next few days, bringing along a new ridge and some moist onshore winds. But wait, there's more! These onshore winds are teaming up with an upper trough that's making its way over to increase rainfall along parts of the tropical east coast starting Wednesday. So, if you find yourself caught in a storm or heatwave, remember to stay safe and dry - we don't want any flying umbrellas or melting ice creams on our hands!

NSW and ACT:

Looks like Mother Nature is playing some tricks on us again, with deep moisture lingering over the northeast and a high approaching Tasmania extending a ridge over NSW and the ACT. Beware of storms and heatwaves as the high moves into the Tasman Sea on Thursday and drifts slowly northeast. Stay safe as a trough and cloud band system may move into the far southwest on Sunday, moving slowly east over the following few days. Remember to stay hydrated and seek shelter during any extreme weather conditions.

VIC:

Well, it seems like we're in for a thrilling weekend with a high pressure ridge lingering over the State. And just when you thought things couldn't get any more exciting, a trough will make its grand entrance over western parts on Saturday. It's a real rollercoaster of weather patterns out there! Remember to stay safe and hydrated amidst the chaos of storms and heatwaves.

SA:

Well, looks like we've got a high pressure system showing off its ridge over South Australia. This high is going to do a little dance southwards today, then shimmy eastwards over to the Tasman Sea by Thursday. But hold onto your hats, because a cold front and low pressure trough are going to crash the party over in the far west on Friday, before making their way eastwards over the weekend. So, if you find yourself caught in the middle of a storm or heatwave, remember to stay safe out there!

WA:

Well, it seems like some unruly low pressure is causing a ruckus over the Pilbara, Kimberley, and North Interior regions. Brace yourselves for potential storms and heatwaves, but remember to stay safe out there!

TAS:

Well, it seems like Tasmania is in for some interesting weather this week. A high pressure ridge will be making its way across the Bight and settling over the state by Wednesday. By Thursday, it will decide to hang out in the Tasman Sea for a bit. Come Friday, a warm northerly flow will start to sweep over Tasmania, bringing with it some heat. And just when you thought things couldn't get any more exciting, a weak trough decides to make an appearance on Saturday afternoon. So, if you find yourself caught in any stormy situations or heatwaves, remember to stay safe out there. Mother nature can be a little unpredictable at times, after all.

NT:

Hold onto your hats, folks, because it looks like we're in for a wild ride of storms and heatwaves in the Northern Territory. A mix of humid easterly winds up north and dry northeast to southeasterly winds down south is causing scattered showers and thunderstorms. But don't worry, a trough is on its way to shake things up even more by the end of the week. Remember to stay safe and prepare for some turbulent weather ahead.

Wednesday, 20th November

Well folks, it seems like the southwest is turning into a real-life oven, with high fire dangers on the horizon. So, if you fancy a spontaneous BBQ, maybe think twice. Stay safe out there and remember, playing with fire isn't just a saying โ€“ it's a warning.

Thursday, 21st November

Better pack your raincoat and umbrella, because there's a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms across the state. Watch out for those thunderstorms northwest of Roma to Rockhampton - they could be a real shocker! Showers will be spreading like gossip in the southeast and along the east coast, so be prepared for some damp days ahead. Don't forget your galoshes! In the far southwest, it'll be partly cloudy - perfect weather for lounging around like a lizard on a rock. Maximum temperatures will be below average in most areas, but don't let that fool you - there's a severe heatwave happening in the northwestern Peninsula. It's so hot, you could fry an egg on the sidewalk! So, while you're out and about, make sure to stay safe in the storms and keep cool in the heatwave. And remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum!

Friday, 22nd November

Watch out for scattered showers and possible thunderstorms in central, eastern, and northern Queensland, especially north of Rockhampton. Showers may become more widespread along the east coast with moderate rainfall expected. In the southwest, expect partly cloudy skies. Maximum temperatures will be below average in most parts of Queensland, except for the northwestern Peninsula where heatwave conditions are likely. Stay safe and be prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come your way!

Saturday, 23rd November

Well, Queensland is in for a real treat today, with some isolated to scattered showers in certain areas. Watch out for those thunderstorms up north though, they can be quite the showstopper. And don't forget your sunscreen, as temperatures are creeping above average in the southwest. Stay safe out there, folks!

Region Round-up - BOM

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands

Region Forecast: Beware, my dear weather enthusiasts! We have a delightful mix of clouds and showers on the horizon, with a medium chance of some thunderous entertainment. The winds will be blowing from the east at a casual 15 to 25 km/h, so hold onto your hats! As the night falls, temperatures will gracefully plummet to a range of 18 to 23 degrees, providing the perfect backdrop for a cozy evening in. However, do not be fooled by the charm of the night, as daytime temperatures are expected to soar to a scorching 27 to 34 degrees. So, remember to stay safe amidst the stormy skies and blistering heatwaves. And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, don't forget to pack an umbrella and some sunscreen!
