State conditions

QLD:

It seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this week, with a trough causing some drama over western Queensland. But fear not, as a ridge over eastern Queensland is here to save the day and strengthen from Sunday. Just like a hero swooping in to save the day! However, we can't let our guard down just yet. The equatorial trough over the Gulf of Carpentaria and northern Coral Sea is up to no good, combining forces with the ridge to bring onshore winds over the northeast coast. It's like a stormy team-up that could cause some trouble. As the week progresses, the ridge and onshore winds will weaken, giving us a temporary break from the chaos. But don't get too comfortable, as a trough is set to make an appearance in the far southwest on Thursday, moving east across southern Queensland on Friday. It's like a never-ending game of weather tag! And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a new high may enter the Tasman Sea next weekend, strengthening a ridge over southeastern Queensland. It's like a weather rollercoaster that never ends! In the midst of all this weather madness, it's important to stay safe and be prepared for whatever storms or heatwaves may come our way. So grab your umbrella, sunscreen, and maybe a snack or two, and let's ride out this wild weather together!

NSW and ACT:

Get ready folks, Mother Nature is up to her usual tricks again! A high pressure system is making its way east to the Tasman Sea, while a pesky trough is just hanging out over the northern inland. Things are about to get interesting as this trough deepens and moves east, bringing with it a hot and unstable airmass. But don't get too comfortable, because a cold front is lurking to the south, ready to swoop in and mix things up with a cool and gusty southerly change. As if that wasn't enough excitement for one week, the trough is planning to camp out along the north coast for the foreseeable future. So, be sure to stay safe and prepared for whatever storms or heatwaves might come our way. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but we can always be ready for whatever she throws at us!

VIC:

Looks like Mother Nature is really throwing a tantrum this week! A high pressure system is causing some chaos over in Tasmania, moving east into the Tasman Sea on Monday. This is being followed by a trough and cold front marching through Victoria. But fear not, another ridge of high pressure will come to the rescue on Tuesday. With all this stormy weather and heatwaves on the horizon, remember to stay safe and take precautions. It's always better to be prepared than caught off guard by Mother Nature's mood swings. So buckle up and ride out the storm, folks!

SA:

Well folks, brace yourselves for some wild weather ahead! A high pressure system is making its way eastwards, while a low pressure trough is causing havoc in the west. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, another high pressure system is on the horizon next week. With all these weather systems colliding, we're in for some stormy conditions and scorching heatwaves. Remember to stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. It's going to be a bumpy ride, so hold on tight and don't get caught out in the storm!

WA:

Well, well, well, it appears we have a rather lackluster low pressure system loitering about in the northern region of our lovely State. This could potentially bring about some rather tumultuous weather conditions, including storms and heatwaves. So, my dear friends, please be sure to take the necessary precautions to stay safe during this unpredictable period.

TAS:

Get ready for some exciting weather rollercoaster, folks! A high pressure system is packing its bags and heading east of Tasmania tonight. On Monday, brace yourselves for a cold front crashing the party in the afternoon and evening. By Tuesday, a high will be flexing its muscles over the Bight, extending its reach over Tasmania and lingering around until Thursday. So, stay safe out there as you navigate through the stormy seas and heatwaves that may come your way.

NT:

Well, isn't Mother Nature just throwing the ultimate party up in northern NT with that broad area of low pressure? And let's not forget about that trough strutting its stuff over the Tanami and Barkly Districts - talk about a showstopper. Meanwhile, that ridge down in southern NT is just chilling like a villain. But hold onto your hats, folks, because another trough is making its grand entrance into southern NT on Monday. It's like a stormy soap opera up in here! So, while you're out and about, make sure to stay safe and keep an eye out for any heatwaves or storms heading your way. Wouldn't want to mess with Mother Nature's mood swings, now would we?

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Monday, 27th January

Well, looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers and thunderstorms scattered around the state. Just a heads up, it might be a good idea to pack an umbrella if you're in the Southeast Coast District - those showers can be quite unpredictable. And for those living between Cooktown and Townsville, be prepared for some heavy rainfall - looks like Mother Nature might be having a bit of a tantrum in that area. As for temperatures, they'll be near average in the east and north, but above average elsewhere. So, don't forget to stay hydrated and maybe crank up that AC if you're in the far southwest - it's going to be a scorcher. Oh, and speaking of heat, there's a severe heatwave warning in the far southwest, so make sure to stay cool and safe. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to dealing with Mother Nature's temper tantrums.

Tuesday, 28th January

Prepare yourselves for a mixed bag of weather today, my friends. Sun shining down on the southeast of Gayndah, while showers and thunderstorms will be making appearances in various other areas. Keep an eye out for those scattered showers turning into widespread rain, especially between Cooktown and Townsville - you may even experience some heavy rainfall. Don't be surprised if you encounter some morning fog inland in the southeast - it's just nature's way of keeping things interesting. Temperatures will be hovering around average in the eastern districts and Cape York Peninsula, but above average elsewhere. And fear not, the severe heatwave conditions in the far southwest are slowly but surely calming down. Remember to stay safe out there, folks. Whether you're facing storms or heatwaves, it's always best to be prepared and take precautions to ensure your well-being. Let's weather this storm together, shall we?

Wednesday, 29th January

Well, it seems like some parts of Gayndah will be basking in the sun, while others may have a surprise visit from a thunderstorm. Keep an eye out for morning fog if you're cruising between Yeppoon and Gayndah. Temperatures will be playing it cool in the east, but things might get a bit too hot to handle in other areas. Remember, safety first when dealing with storms and heatwaves!

Thursday, 30th January

Watch out for some scattered showers and thunderstorms popping up around town today. Things are heating up, especially in areas south of Townsville where temperatures are soaring above average. Stay safe out there and keep an eye on the weather to avoid getting caught in any stormy situations.
