QLD:

Hold onto your hats, Queenslanders! A trough is making its way through the west, ready to bid adieu on Monday. Meanwhile, a ridge in the east is flexing its muscles as a high saunters over to the Tasman Sea for a little holiday. Watch out for that weak equatorial trough hanging out in the Gulf of Carpentaria and northern Coral Sea - it's mixing things up with the ridge to whip up some onshore winds along the northeast coast. But fear not, for come Wednesday and Thursday, the ridge and winds will calm down as the high takes a hike. Keep an eye out for a trough sneaking into the southwest on Thursday, making its way across southern Queensland on Friday, and then lazily drifting west over the weekend. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a new high might pop into the Tasman Sea next weekend, strengthening the ridge over the southeast. Oh, and let's not forget about that equatorial trough up north - it's slowly deepening and might just turn into a monsoon trough by Friday. Keep your umbrellas handy, because one or more tropical lows could rear their heads in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Coral Sea by the end of the week. Stay safe out there, folks!

NSW and ACT:

Get ready for some wild weather antics this week, as a high pressure system decides to take a leisurely stroll towards the Tasman Sea while a stubborn trough hangs out in the northern inland. By Monday and Tuesday, this trough is planning to throw a tantrum and deepen before making its way east as a cold front decides to crash the party down south. This chaotic pattern will bring in a hot and unstable airmass, followed by a cool and gusty southerly change that will leave you feeling like you're on a rollercoaster ride. And just when you thought the drama was over, the trough decides to park itself along the north coast for the rest of the week, making sure you don't forget about its presence. So, be sure to buckle up and stay safe during these stormy and heatwave-filled days ahead. It's going to be a wild ride!

VIC:

Well folks, it seems like we've got ourselves a high pressure system lounging over the Bight, extending its ridge over Victoria this weekend. Just when you thought things couldn't get more exciting, the ridge will saunter over to the Tasman Sea on Monday, while a trough joins the party with a cold front crossing Tasmania and the State. But wait, there's more! The next ridge of high pressure strolls in on Tuesday. With all these weather shenanigans going on, it's important to stay safe and prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. So buckle up and enjoy the ride, because it's going to be a wild weather week ahead!

SA:

Prepare for some wild weather as a high pressure system makes its way across the country, followed by a low pressure trough causing havoc in the west. Stay safe as storms and heatwaves are expected in various parts of the country. Remember to take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones.

WA:

Well, it seems like there's a bit of a low-pressure situation loitering around the northern part of the State. You might want to keep an eye on that, especially if you don't want to end up caught in any unexpected stormy shenanigans or heatwave hijinks. Stay safe out there!

TAS:

Prepare for some wild weather ahead as a high pressure system decides to throw a tantrum over Tasmania before moving on. Expect a cold front to crash the party on Monday, followed by a high that just won't leave on Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay safe out there, folks, and hold on tight during the stormy times ahead!

NT:

Well, it seems like NT is getting a bit of a mixed bag weather-wise. We've got low pressure, troughs, and ridges all over the place. And just to keep things interesting, another trough is making its way into the mix on Monday. So, buckle up folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride with potential storms and heatwaves on the horizon. Stay safe out there and keep an eye on the forecast. You never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve!

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Sunday, 26th January

Well, it appears that the Channel Country is experiencing some rather extreme weather conditions, with high temperatures and the potential for storms on the horizon. So, if you happen to find yourself in this region, it might be wise to take some precautions and stay safe. After all, getting caught in a heatwave or a storm is no picnic. So, be sure to keep cool and stay indoors if possible, and remember to stay hydrated. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to dealing with the unpredictable whims of Mother Nature.

Monday, 27th January

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers and thunderstorms scattered across the state. The Southeast Coast District might escape with just a few isolated showers, but don't count on it. Be prepared for some serious downpours and possible heavy rainfall between Cooktown and Townsville. And if you happen to be in the far southwest, brace yourself for some severe heatwave conditions. It's like Mother Nature couldn't decide between a storm or a heatwave, so she decided to throw both at us. Remember to stay safe out there, folks. Whether you're dodging thunderstorms or trying not to melt in the heat, take precautions and make sure you're prepared for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw your way.

Tuesday, 28th January

Today's weather report: Get ready for a mixed bag of weather, folks. From sunny skies in Gayndah to scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, it's shaping up to be a wild day. Keep an eye out for heavy rainfall between Cooktown and Townsville - Mother Nature is feeling a bit dramatic today. Don't be fooled by the near-average temperatures in the east and Cape York Peninsula - things are heating up elsewhere. And let's not forget about that pesky morning fog inland in the southeast. It's like Mother Nature can't make up her mind today! Oh, and if you're in the far southwest, the severe heatwave conditions are finally easing up. Stay safe out there, folks. Whether you're facing storms or heatwaves, remember to take precautions and stay hydrated. Mother Nature doesn't mess around.

Wednesday, 29th January

Well, it seems like the central interior and southeast of Gayndah will have a lovely day with mostly sunny skies. However, don't be surprised if you come across some isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in other areas. Watch out for morning fog between Yeppoon and Gayndah - it might sneak up on you like a ninja in the night. Temperatures will be hanging out near average in eastern districts and Cape York Peninsula, but things might get a little toasty elsewhere. So, stay safe out there and remember to keep cool during any heatwaves or storms that might come your way.

Region Round-up - BOM

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands

Region Forecast: Get ready to dodge some raindrops, folks! There's a high chance of showers near the coast and a medium chance elsewhere, with the added bonus of a thunderstorm thrown in for good measure. So grab your umbrella and hold onto your hats because things are about to get a little wild out there. With light winds becoming easterly at 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, it's shaping up to be a blustery day. Overnight temperatures will be falling to a balmy 20 to 25 degrees, with daytime temperatures reaching a scorching 28 to 33 degrees. So make sure to stay hydrated and find some shade, unless you want to feel like a melting popsicle out there. Remember, safety first when it comes to storms and heatwaves. Keep an eye on the weather and take necessary precautions to stay safe. And who knows, maybe Mother Nature will throw in a little surprise to keep things interesting.
