National Synoptic Situation

National Temperature and Rainfall

State conditions

QLD:

Hold onto your hats, Queenslanders! A trough is making its way over the southeast coast, taking a pit stop in central Queensland before heading back inland. This should bring some relief from the scorching heatwave we've been experiencing in the east. Meanwhile, a high-pressure ridge is holding strong over tropical east Queensland, flexing its muscles a bit more over the weekend. But wait, there's more! A trough hanging out in the northern Coral Sea might decide to join the party at Cape York Peninsula next week, bringing in some much-needed moisture and rainfall to Far North Queensland and the tropical east coast. So, while we enjoy the break from the heat, remember to stay safe during any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. Keep cool, stay hydrated, and maybe invest in a good umbrella โ€“ just in case!

NSW and ACT:

Batten down the hatches, my friends, for we are in for quite the weather rollercoaster! A low pressure system is dancing its way across the Tasman Sea, while its trusty sidekick, the trough, is making its grand entrance in southeast Queensland. Meanwhile, a high pressure system is sauntering along the coast, extending its reach like a fancy feather boa across the east. But wait, there's more! A low pressure trough is lurking inland, ready to join forces with a cold front swooping in from the south. Brace yourselves for a cool and gusty southerly change, set to sweep through the south and west like a particularly dramatic opera singer. And fear not, for the trough will continue its journey along the north coast, like a stubborn guest who just won't leave. So, dear weather enthusiasts, stay safe and keep an eye on those storm clouds and heatwaves. It's going to be a wild ride out there!

VIC:

Well folks, it seems like Mother Nature is really bringing the heat with a high pressure system hanging out over the Bight. This system is set to extend a ridge over Victoria, so get ready for some scorching temperatures into the weekend. But don't get too comfortable, as a trough linked to a cold front making its way across Tasmania is expected to bring some stormy weather on Monday. As the ridge moves out into the Tasman Sea, brace yourself for potential heatwaves and maybe even some wild storms. And just when you thought it was safe to go outside, another high pressure ridge is on the horizon for Tuesday. Stay safe out there, folks, and don't let Mother Nature catch you off guard!

SA:

Get ready for some wild weather as a high pressure system decides to take a little vacation south of the Bight. This means a trough is going to crash the party from the west on Sunday, making its way to central and eastern waters by Monday. So, folks, brace yourselves for some stormy skies and scorching heatwaves. Remember to stay safe and hydrated during this tumultuous weather!

WA:

Well, it seems Mother Nature has decided to grace the Kimberley with a broad low pressure trough. This could potentially bring some stormy weather and maybe even a heatwave. Remember to stay safe and prepared for any extreme conditions that may come your way.

TAS:

Hold onto your hats, Tasmania! A westerly stream is set to blow through today, thanks to a high pressure system chilling out over the Bight. Keep an eye out for a weak cold front giving the south of Tasmania a little brush on Saturday, before the high pressure system takes over on Sunday. Monday brings a cold front tagging along in the afternoon and evening, as the high makes its great escape to the east. But fear not, a new high will swoop in over the Bight on Tuesday, extending its reach over Tasmania. So, stay safe out there and brace yourself for some stormy or scorching conditions!

NT:

Well, isn't Mother Nature just feeling a bit moody up in northern NT with that broad area of low pressure? And don't even get me started on that trough stretching over the Tanami and Barkly Districts - talk about drama! And let's not forget about that ridge sauntering across southern NT like it owns the place. Now, brace yourselves because another trough is set to saunter into southern NT on Monday. With all this talk of pressure and troughs, it's like a stormy soap opera up in here! Remember, safety first, folks. Stay safe in the midst of these weather shenanigans.

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Saturday, 25th January

Don't forget your sunscreen and umbrella! The weather report for today includes some sunny skies in the southwest, but watch out for isolated showers and thunderstorms popping up elsewhere. Keep an eye out for those severe thunderstorms, especially in the central interior - Mother Nature seems to be feeling a bit feisty today. Make sure to stay safe out there, folks! Those light to moderate winds might be a bit unpredictable, so hold onto your hats. And don't be fooled by the near or above average temperatures - things could get pretty toasty inland south of Georgetown and west of Dalby. In fact, we're talking well above average heatwaves in those areas. Stay hydrated and find some shade if you can. As for the southeastern and central parts, it looks like those severe to extreme heatwave conditions are finally starting to ease up. But up north in Queensland, it's a different story. So, keep cool, stay safe, and maybe avoid challenging Mother Nature to a duel today.

Sunday, 26th January

Grab your sunscreen and a fan, because it's shaping up to be a scorcher out there! Isolated showers and thunderstorms are popping up all over the place, especially in northern, central, and eastern Queensland. And don't forget about those heavy rainfalls possible up north. Temperatures are soaring, with the east coast sitting pretty close to average, while inland areas are heating up above average. And out west? Well, let's just say it's hotter than a jalapeรฑo in a sauna. Keep an eye out for those severe heatwave conditions up north, but don't worry - just stay hydrated, find some shade, and you'll be as cool as a cucumber. Stay safe out there, folks!

Monday, 27th January

It seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers and thunderstorms making an appearance across most of the state. In the southeast, it's just showers - nothing too exciting. But watch out for those scattered showers around the Central Coast and north of Ayr, they could pop up when you least expect it. If you find yourself up north on the North Tropical Coast, be prepared for some potentially heavy rainfall - it's like Mother Nature is really letting loose up there. And don't even get me started on the temperatures. Near the east coast, things are hovering around average, but inland it's heating up. And out west? Well, let's just say it's well above average - sounds like a fun time. Oh, and did I mention the severe heatwave conditions brewing in southwestern Queensland? It's like Mother Nature turned up the heat and forgot to turn it back down. So, stay safe out there, folks. Keep cool, stay hydrated, and don't forget your sunscreen. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but that doesn't mean we can't be prepared.

Tuesday, 28th January

Grab your umbrellas and sunscreen because Queensland is serving up a smorgasbord of weather today. There's a sprinkling of showers and thunderstorms scattered around, with a side of heavy rainfall up north. Temperatures are also on the rise, so make sure to stay hydrated and slather on that sunscreen. Stay safe out there, folks!

Remember to stay safe and protect yourself from the elements.
