State conditions

QLD:

Hold onto your hats, folks! We've got a trough hanging out from the North West district all the way to the Central Coast, just chilling out and not going anywhere fast. Meanwhile, a high in the Bight is throwing a ridge over western and interior Queensland like a fancy scarf. Watch out for a low lurking offshore of the northern New South Wales coast, ready to stir up some showers and gusty winds in the far southeast of the state. And don't forget about the equatorial trough possibly making an appearance over the far northern Peninsula this weekend and into early next week. To top it all off, a new trough is set to saunter east across the southern interior in the middle of next week. So, stay safe out there and hold onto your umbrellas – it's shaping up to be a wild ride of storms and heatwaves!

NSW and ACT:

Hold on to your hats, folks! Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody with a low pressure system and a pesky trough causing some strong and gusty winds along the central coastline. It looks like the weather will be wet and windy along the coast and nearby ranges for a while. As this low pressure system sticks around, it's important to stay safe and secure anything that might get blown away in the storm. And don't forget to keep an eye out for any heatwaves that might come our way too. Stay safe out there!

VIC:

Well, it appears that Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive this week, as a high pressure system near Tasmania is causing a bit of a ridge over Victoria. This high will be making its way to the southeast over the weekend, while another high decides to pop up in the Bight. Just to keep things interesting, a low pressure trough will be making its way into western Victoria on Sunday, then deciding to take a little trip over northern parts on Monday. With all these weather systems doing a little dance around us, it's important to stay safe and be prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. So grab your umbrella and sunscreen, folks, and let's ride out this weather rollercoaster together!

SA:

A cheeky high south of Tasmania is flexing its muscles, extending a ridge over the waters to the south of SA. This high will be making its way eastwards into the Tasman Sea over the weekend, giving a weak trough the chance to show off about the far west on Sunday before extending eastwards on Monday. Meanwhile, another high, centred southeast of the Bight, is extending a ridge over the waters to the south of SA starting from Monday. Keep an eye out for any stormy surprises and scorching heatwaves during this time, and remember to stay safe out there!

WA:

Well, isn't Mother Nature feeling a bit moody up in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions? A low pressure trough is lounging around, extending its reach offshore while a weak low is casually hanging out north of the Pilbara. The monsoon decided to make an appearance in the Timor Sea, and there's even a tropical low thinking about crashing the party near the coast. Now, we all know storms can be as unpredictable as a toddler's tantrum, so it's best to stay safe and be prepared for whatever weather shenanigans might come our way. And let's not forget about those heatwaves that can hit us like a ton of bricks. So, buckle up and stay cool, folks!

TAS:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody down in Tasmania. With a high pressure centre hanging out to the south, we can expect some interesting weather shenanigans over the weekend. This high will be heading southeast and causing an easterly flow to sweep over the state, so hold onto your hats. As if that's not enough, a weak ridge will be sticking around on Monday and Tuesday, just to keep things interesting. But wait, there's more! A weak cold front will be making an appearance on Wednesday morning, coming all the way from the west to shake things up a bit. So, if you find yourself caught in the middle of any stormy situations or heatwaves, remember to stay safe out there. And maybe consider packing an extra umbrella, just in case.

NT:

Looks like Mother Nature is up to her usual antics in the Northern Territory. With a ridge directing those southeasterly winds, it's going to be drier than a desert out there. But don't get too comfortable, because that trough in the Tanami and Barkly Districts is bringing some showers and thunderstorms along for the ride. And let's not forget about those weak monsoon-like conditions in the Top End. It's going to be a bit scattered with showers and isolated thunderstorms popping up here and there. But as that drier air starts creeping in from the south, things are going to start to calm down a bit. So, while you're out there dodging storms and heatwaves, make sure to stay safe and keep an eye on the weather. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but that doesn't mean you have to be. Stay safe out there, folks!

Sunday, 19th January

Looks like we've got some sunny skies out west and in the southwest, with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in other areas. Keep an eye out for those scattered showers up north and near the coast, and don't be surprised if things get a bit stormy between Ayr and St Lawrence. Make sure to hold onto your hats, because those winds along the South East Coast could get a bit feisty. And speaking of feisty, it looks like we've still got some heatwave conditions lingering up in tropical northeast Queensland. Stay cool and stay safe, folks!

Monday, 20th January

Well, brace yourselves for a rollercoaster of weather in Queensland! Expect some scattered showers and thunderstorms in various regions, with a chance of isolated showers turning into a full-blown storm up north. Keep an eye out for those pesky showers in the east, but don't worry too much - temperatures will be mostly average, except in the west where things might get a bit toasty. Stay safe out there and remember to pack an umbrella, just in case Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum!
