QLD:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this week, with troughs extending all QLD:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this week, with troughs and lows causing a ruckus off the coast of Capricornia and southern Queensland. There's a lingering trough hanging out in western Queensland, just chilling. And get this - a new trough might decide to crash the party and head east across the state on Wednesday, making its way to the southeast by Thursday. But wait, there's more! A fancy new ridge is planning to strut its stuff across the south of the state later in the week, slowly shimmying north over the weekend as a big low throws a tantrum in the Tasman Sea. Now, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but with all this stormy talk, it's probably a good idea to stay safe and prepared. Heatwaves and wild weather can be a handful, so make sure you're ready for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at us. Stay safe out there, folks!

NSW and ACT:

Well, it looks like Mother Nature is really stirring things up in the weather department. A high pressure system near New Zealand is pushing a moist east to northeasterly flow across eastern parts of the state, while an inland trough is deepening like your pockets after a Black Friday sale. But hold onto your hats, because a strong cold front and its associated trough are set to cross the state during Wednesday and Thursday, bringing with it some stormy weather. And just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier, this system is expected to develop into a low pressure system in the Tasman Sea by the end of the week. So folks, be sure to stay safe and weather the storm โ€“ both literally and figuratively. And remember, when it comes to heatwaves and storms, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, folks, because we've got a low pressure trough causing chaos in western Victoria. This weak pressure gradient means we're in for some stormy weather. On Wednesday, a cold front is set to sweep through, bringing with it even more drama as a low pressure system crosses Tasmania. But fear not, a high pressure system will come to the rescue, calming things down as it moves across the Bight. Just remember to stay safe and keep an eye out for any heatwaves or storms headed our way.

SA:

Hold onto your hats and brace yourselves, folks, because we've got a high pressure ridge and a low pressure trough causing chaos over the state! This pattern is set to continue until a strong change sweeps in on Tuesday, making its way through the west and into central and eastern parts overnight and into Wednesday. As if that wasn't enough excitement, we can expect a cooler, fresh to strong and gusty southwest to southerly flow in the aftermath of the change. But fear not, for a new high from the west will come to save the day by the end of the week. So, stay safe out there and be prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. It's a wild ride, but we'll get through it together!

WA:

Oh, look at that, a delightful low pressure trough gracing us with its presence up north. And how exciting, the possibility of a monsoon forming in the Timor Sea later this week. It's like a stormy symphony orchestrated by Mother Nature herself. Remember to stay safe in the midst of potential storms and heatwaves.

TAS:

Well, it seems like we've got a bit of a weather rollercoaster coming our way this week. A trough hanging out in a warm airmass is causing some mischief today, but don't worry, a high pressure system is coming to save the day tomorrow. However, brace yourselves for a cold front making its grand entrance on Wednesday. And just when you thought it was safe to go outside, a high pressure centre is going to swoop in on Thursday, followed by another system sneaking by on Friday. So, make sure to stay safe and keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. It's all fun and games until Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum, right?

NT:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody up north, with a pesky low pressure system causing some chaos. Keep an eye out for those slow-moving troughs making their way across the southern NT - they can be a real party pooper. Showers and storms will be crashing the party up north, so make sure to stay safe and dry. And don't forget your umbrella - you never know when those storm clouds will decide to show up uninvited.

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Tuesday, 14th January

Buckle up, Queenslanders! Prepare for a rollercoaster of weather today. From isolated showers to severe thunderstorms, Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody. Don't be surprised if you find yourself caught in a storm or sweating bullets in the scorching heatwave. Remember, safety first! Stay indoors during severe thunderstorms and drink plenty of water to beat the heat. And if you're in the western, central, or northern parts of Queensland, be extra cautious - the heatwave is no joke. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show... from the safety of your own home, of course. Stay safe out there!

Wednesday, 15th January

Well, looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms causing a ruckus across the state. The far southwest might get a break from all the drama with some partly cloudy skies, but don't let your guard down just yet. Severe thunderstorms could be crashing the party over parts of the southern interior, so if you're anywhere between Miles and Charleville, keep an eye on the sky. And if you thought the heat was bad, think again - temperatures are soaring near or above average, especially in the northeast and the northern, central, and southern interior. In fact, it's so hot in parts of western, central, and northern Queensland that we're officially in severe heatwave territory. The North Tropical Coast and Tablelands might even experience some locally extreme conditions. So, while we can't control Mother Nature's mood swings, we can at least try to stay safe and cool during these stormy and scorching times.

Thursday, 16th January

Get ready to sweat buckets as temperatures soar to near unbearable levels in central and southeast Queensland. It's so hot, you'll be tempted to fry an egg on the pavement. Meanwhile, expect isolated showers and thunderstorms scattered around the state, with the southeast, central, and north getting the brunt of it. Stay safe out there, folks, and make sure to stay hydrated and seek shelter during any storms that might pop up. Mother Nature's throwing a bit of a tantrum today, so be sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast and take necessary precautions to avoid any surprises.

Friday, 17th January

Grab your sunscreen and get ready to sweat as temperatures soar across central and northeastern Queensland. Some areas might even feel like you're living on the sun itself! Make sure to stay hydrated and find some shade to avoid turning into a crispy critter. And keep an eye out for those thunderstorms - they could sneak up on you when you least expect it. Stay safe out there, friends!
