National Synoptic Situation

National Temperature and Rainfall

State conditions

QLD:

Well, it seems Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody down in the southern Tasman Sea, extending a ridge over eastern Queensland. But don't get too comfortable, as this ridge will weaken as the high moves away into Sunday. A trough near the southeast coast is just hanging out for a few days before slowly making its way offshore early next week. Meanwhile, a second trough over the southern interior is taking a leisurely drift over to the western interior starting tonight. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a new trough will be making its grand entrance, moving east across the state from Wednesday. With all these weather shenanigans going on, it's important to stay safe and keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves that may come your way. Don't let Mother Nature catch you off guard!

NSW and ACT:

Well, looks like those pesky weather systems are at it again. A high pressure system from the southern Tasman Sea is teaming up with a trough off the north coast to create some moist and stormy conditions in eastern New South Wales. Meanwhile, an inland trough is spreading heat across the west with a northerly airstream. Next week, hold onto your hats because a strong cold front is expected to sweep through the state, bringing more wet weather followed by a significant temperature drop. So, stay safe out there and don't get caught in any stormy situations or heatwaves. Mother Nature can be a real trickster sometimes!

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, folks! We've got a low pressure trough hanging out in western Victoria, slowly making its way east. And guess what? A weak cold front is sneaking its way across Tasmania while a high pressure system is moseying on through the Bight. But wait, there's more! The trough is sticking around in western Victoria for Monday and Tuesday. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a stronger cold front is set to sweep through Victoria on Wednesday, bringing along a low pressure system from Tasmania. So, stay safe out there and be prepared for some stormy weather and maybe even a heatwave or two!

SA:

Hold onto your hats, folks! We've got a high pressure ridge moseying over our southern waters, while a low pressure trough is doing a little dance near our northern and eastern borders. This quirky weather pattern is sticking around for the weekend and into next week, with a strong change on the horizon for Tuesday and Wednesday. Get ready for some cooler, gusty winds coming from the southwest to southerly direction. It's going to be a wild ride! Make sure to stay safe and secure any loose items, because Mother Nature is feeling a bit feisty this week. And remember, safety first when dealing with storms and heatwaves.

WA:

Well, well, well, it looks like we've got ourselves a cheeky little low pressure trough hanging out up north. Don't let its broadness fool you, this bad boy is causing quite the stir. With storms and heatwaves on the horizon, it's important to stay safe out there. Remember, when in doubt, stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary risks. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but we can always be prepared.

TAS:

Well, it seems we have a delightful mix of weather patterns to look forward to this week. A trough from the north is cozying up with a warm airmass over the state, creating a rather interesting scenario. Meanwhile, a high is making itself comfortable to the west of Tasmania, only to fade away come Tuesday as a parade of fronts makes its grand entrance from the southern Bight on Tuesday and Wednesday. With all this commotion in the atmosphere, it's essential to stay safe and prepared for whatever storms or heatwaves may come our way. So buckle up, folks, and enjoy the weather show!

NT:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive up north, with a broad area of low pressure causing some chaos. And don't forget about that slow-moving trough in southern NT - it's like the guest that just won't leave. As this trough creeps northwards throughout the week, we can expect some stormy weather to follow. So, be sure to stay safe and don't let the heatwaves catch you off guard. Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to Mother Nature's mood swings.

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Sunday, 12th January

Well, it seems like the Central West, North West, and Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders regions are in for a toasty time ahead. Don't forget to stay safe and hydrated during these high temperatures, unless you want to feel the wrath of the blazing sun. And let's not forget about the possibility of storms brewing in the distance - make sure you're prepared for some electrifying weather. Stay safe out there, folks!

Monday, 13th January

Looks like Mother Nature is bringing us a mixed bag of weather today. In the southwest, it's mostly sunny - perfect for a day at the beach or a BBQ. But watch out, there are some isolated showers and thunderstorms scattered around eastern and northern Queensland. And if you're in the east or north of the state, be on the lookout for severe thunderstorms - they could be heading your way. It's going to be hot out there, with temperatures near or below average in the southeast, but soaring above average everywhere else. If you're in the west or central interior, get ready for some seriously scorching heat - it's going to be well above average. Remember, folks, when there's storms or heatwaves on the horizon, it's important to stay safe. Keep an eye on the weather forecast, stay hydrated, and if you're caught in a thunderstorm, seek shelter immediately. And don't forget to slap on that sunscreen - those UV rays won't take a day off just because of a little storm! Stay safe out there, Queenslanders.

Tuesday, 14th January

Bask in the sunny skies down in the southwest, but watch out for those pesky isolated showers and thunderstorms lurking in other parts of Queensland. Keep an eye out for severe thunderstorms, especially if you're hanging around central to northeastern Queensland - Ingham to Rockhampton and St George in particular. Temperatures are playing tricks on us, with averages in the southeast, above average in most areas, and soaring to well above average in the west and central interior. The heatwave is turning up the heat in the northeast, causing extreme conditions. In other parts of central and northern Queensland, it's severe but slowly easing in the west. Stay safe out there, folks. Keep cool and stay hydrated during these stormy and scorching times.

Wednesday, 15th January

Looks like Mother Nature is having a bit of a temper tantrum across the state today. We've got some scattered showers and thunderstorms causing a ruckus, especially in the far southwest. Temperatures are all over the place, with some areas feeling just right in the southeast, while others are sweating buckets in the north, central, and southern interior. If you thought the heatwave in the northeast was bad, just wait until you hear about the severe heatwave conditions in central and northern Queensland. It's like Mother Nature turned the heat up to 11 and forgot to turn it back down. Stay safe out there, folks. Make sure you're staying hydrated and finding ways to cool off. And if you hear rumblings of thunder or see dark clouds on the horizon, it might be a good idea to seek shelter. Mother Nature doesn't mess around when she's in a mood.
