National Synoptic Situation

State conditions
QLD:
Well, it seems like we've got a high chillin' in the southern Tasman Sea, keeping a ridge over eastern Queensland. There's a trough hanging out in the west and southern interior, just loitering around for a few days. This combo of the ridge and trough is drawing moisture inland - fancy stuff, right? As the weekend rolls around, the high will bid us farewell and the ridge will start to lose its cool factor. The trough will make its way to the southeast on Saturday, then strut over to the southwest on Sunday. Come Sunday, there will be a weak pressure gradient lazily extending over the state. And don't you worry, the trough might decide to take a little stroll to the east starting Wednesday. Now, we all know how unpredictable storms can be - they're like that one friend who shows up uninvited and causes chaos. So, make sure you stay safe and be prepared for any sudden changes in the weather. And if a heatwave decides to crash the party, stay cool and hydrated. You never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve!
NSW and ACT:
Well, it seems like we've got a bit of a weather situation happening off the Hunter Coast. The low pressure system and trough are losing their strength, but don't get too comfortable just yet. There's a high pressure system chilling in the southern Tasman Sea, keeping things interesting. As if that wasn't enough, an inland trough is getting ready to make an appearance in the state's far west. It's planning to deepen over the weekend, so brace yourselves for some potentially stormy conditions. Meanwhile, a ridge is hanging out over the Tasman Sea, bringing heat and moisture inland and causing a bit of a ruckus to the east. So, stay safe out there, folks. Keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for anything. And remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to storms and heatwaves.
VIC:
As we continue our educational journey through the intricacies of weather patterns, it appears that a high pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea is feeling rather ambitious and has decided to extend a weak ridge towards eastern Victoria. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough near the South Australian border seems to be hanging around like a party guest who just won't leave. In the days to come, the high pressure system will slowly make its way southeast, while the pesky trough deepens and loiters around eastern South Australia and western Victoria. On Sunday, this trough will finally decide to move east across the State, as a cold front crosses Tasmania and another high pressure circulation approaches from the Bight. And just when you thought the drama was over, another trough will make an appearance across northwestern Victoria on Monday. Now, before you go out and attempt to conquer the elements, remember to stay safe and prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come your way. After all, it's better to be safe than sorry when dealing with the whims of Mother Nature.
SA:
Well, it looks like we've got a high pressure system causing havoc east of Tasmania, slowly making its way eastwards. This system is extending a ridge to the south of SA until early Saturday, while a low pressure trough over SA is moving northeastwards during Thursday and Friday. Another high will be moving across waters to the south over the weekend before heading south of Tasmania early next week. And just when you thought it was safe, a trough is expected to move across SA on Tuesday. So, folks, it's shaping up to be a wild ride of storms and heatwaves. Remember to stay safe and prepare for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.
WA:
Well, isn't that just peachy? A delightful low pressure trough has decided to grace us with its presence over the northern parts of the state. It may bring with it some rather exciting storms or heatwaves, so be sure to keep yourself safe.
TAS:
Attention all weather enthusiasts and safety seekers, a high pressure system just casually hanging out to the east of Tasmania is keeping things relatively calm in the state for today and tomorrow. However, brace yourselves for some excitement as a broad trough filled with warm air from the north is making its way over the state this weekend and sticking around until Monday. This could potentially bring some stormy conditions or even a heatwave, so remember to stay safe and hydrated during these weather shenanigans.
NT:
Well, it seems like Mother Nature has some big plans for Australia this week. A wide area of low pressure is making itself comfortable in the north, while a couple of troughs are planning a road trip across the south. With all this atmospheric action going on, we can expect some stormy weather and maybe even a heatwave or two. So, remember to stay safe and prepare for whatever weather shenanigans come our way.

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G
Friday, 10th January
Hold onto your hats, folks! The mercury is set to soar in the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West, North West, and Channel Country districts. It's going to be hotter than a jalapeno's armpit out there, so make sure to stay safe and hydrated. And don't forget your sunscreen, unless you want to end up looking like a lobster at a beach party. Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry in the face of these scorching temperatures.
Saturday, 11th January
Hold on to your hats, folks! It's shaping up to be a scorcher out in western Queensland. Showers and thunderstorms might be scattered elsewhere, but don't let that fool you - they could turn into a real doozy. Watch out for those severe thunderstorms down south, they're no joke. With maximum temperatures soaring above average in some areas and plummeting below in others, it's a real mixed bag out there. And let's not forget about those severe heatwave conditions - they're no joke either. Stay safe, stay cool, and for the love of all things weather-related, be prepared for anything!
Sunday, 12th January
Hold onto your hats, folks! There's some wild weather ahead. Expect a mix of sun and rain, with a chance of thunderstorms popping up here and there. Keep an eye out for severe thunderstorms in central and southeastern Queensland - Mother Nature's feeling a bit unpredictable in those parts. Don't be fooled by the sunshine, though. Temperatures are climbing, especially in the west and up north. It's so hot, it's like a heatwave out there! Stay safe and hydrated, and maybe invest in some extra sunscreen. And if you hear thunder rumbling, seek shelter - those storms can be fierce. Just another day in the life of Australian weather, am I right?
Monday, 13th January
Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today. We've got some sunshine in the southwest, central, and southern interior of Queensland, but don't be surprised if you run into some scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Keep an eye out for those severe thunderstorms, especially in central and southeastern Queensland - Mother Nature might have a few surprises up her sleeve. Now, when it comes to temperatures, it's a bit of a mixed bag. We're looking at near or below average temps in the southeast, above average in other areas, and well above average in western Queensland. In fact, it's so hot out there that we've got some severe heatwave conditions in parts of central, northern, and far North Queensland. So, folks, make sure you stay safe and hydrated - no one wants to be caught in a storm or a heatwave unprepared.
Storms for the next 3 days:
The monsoon pulse is beginning to take effect on the West and the storm trough taking effect on the SE of QLD as well as the dividing range.
