National Synoptic Situation

National Temperature and Rainfall

Rain column is not populating, apologies for that, not in our control.

State conditions

QLD:

It appears that a tropical low is making its way towards the northeast tropical coast, bringing with it increased rainfall and winds. The monsoon trough is also hanging around northern Cape York Peninsula, with the possibility of yet another tropical low lurking in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Meanwhile, a ridge is holding strong over the southeast coast and will continue to do so for a little while longer before potentially backing off next week. With all this stormy weather on the horizon, it's important to stay safe and be prepared for any potential heatwaves or other extreme conditions that may come our way. Remember to take necessary precautions and heed any warnings from authorities to ensure your safety during these tumultuous times.

NSW and ACT:

Well, it seems we've got a high pressure system lounging over the Tasman Sea, creating a ridge across the eastern half of the state. Meanwhile, a trough out west is just hanging out, not moving much at all. This setup won't be changing much until mid-week when a cold front decides to crash the party from the south. This will finally push that lazy inland trough towards the northeast by the end of next week. With all this weather drama going on, it's important to stay safe and prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. So, buckle up and hold on tight!

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, Victorians! Thanks to a high pressure system in the Tasman Sea, we're in for some scorching hot weather as a warm east to northeasterly airstream takes over. And just when you thought it couldn't get any hotter, a hot northerly airstream will be moving in early next week, followed by some inland troughs from the west. So, remember to stay safe and hydrated as we brace ourselves for some intense heatwaves and stormy weather ahead.

SA:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this week, with a high pressure system causing havoc over the Tasman Sea. This is extending a ridge down south of SA, while a low pressure trough is making its way over the eastern states and heading towards eastern SA. Hold onto your hats, because another trough is gearing up near the WA border and will be making its way eastwards on Tuesday. With all these weather systems colliding, it's important to stay safe and prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to unpredictable weather patterns. Stay cool, stay safe, and keep an eye out for any sudden changes in the forecast.

WA:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature has decided to throw a little tantrum over the North Interior and southern Kimberley, extending all the way west into the Pilbara. So, brace yourselves for some potentially stormy weather in these regions. Remember to stay safe and keep an eye out for any heatwaves that might come your way.

TAS:

Well, it seems like Tasmania is about to have a little rendezvous with some high pressure systems and a weak cold front. To spice things up, they'll be forming a little weather party in the east and southwest of the state. Just when you thought things couldn't get more exciting, a new high will be making its way over from the west to join the fun on Wednesday. But hold onto your hats, because with all this weather mingling, there's a chance for storms and heatwaves to crash the party. So, remember to stay safe and keep an eye out for any wild weather heading your way. It's all fun and games until Mother Nature decides to show off her power. Stay safe out there, folks!

NT:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody up in northern NT with all that low pressure and trough action. Down south, a weakening ridge is keeping things dry with an east to southeast flow. Keep an eye out for a potential tropical low forming in the Gulf of Carpentaria this weekend - sounds like a stormy situation brewing! Stay safe out there and remember to pack your sunscreen, just in case of any unexpected heatwaves.

Four Day Forecasts

If you run a business and would like the benefits of a Big Shout plus your business promoted for 365 days, head here to take out a Bold Shout for $250.

NQ Rainfall 24 Accumulated (ACCESS G)

Tonight and tomorrow should see the worst of the rain, and most of that is going to be focused around Townsville from Cardwell down to Bowen mainly, and there will be more rain further North and South of that. The following days should see the system strengthen in the Gulf but weak its hold of producing rain over the NQ coastline.

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Sunday, 2nd February

Prepare for a rollercoaster ride of weather today, with a mix of sunshine, showers, and thunderstorms scattered throughout the land. In the southern interior, you might just catch some rays while dodging isolated showers or thunderstorms in the far southwest. Keep an eye out for rain and possible heavy falls in areas like the Peninsula and north of Mackay to Winton - it's like a water show put on by nature herself! And don't forget about those strong winds - Cooktown to Mackay might just experience some gusts that could make your hair stand on end. Stay safe out there, folks! Remember, it's all in the hands of Mother Nature, so keep an eye on the skies and stay prepared for whatever she might throw your way. Stay safe and dry out there!

Monday, 3rd February

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today. We've got some scattered showers and thunderstorms lurking around, so keep an eye out for those sneaky raindrops. Down south, it's looking partly cloudy - a perfect excuse to break out those sunglasses and pretend you're in a music video. But wait, there's more! North of St Lawrence to Longreach, we're expecting some widespread showers. And don't forget about the tropical east coast between Bowen and Port Douglas - heavy falls could be coming your way. So grab your umbrella and hold on tight, because it's about to get wet and wild. Now, I know it's tempting to go dance in the rain or challenge a thunderstorm to a staring contest, but let's not forget to stay safe out there. Keep an eye on the weather updates, stay indoors if things start to get too intense, and remember: it's always better to be safe than sorry. So let's all weather this storm together, folks, and we'll come out on the other side with some hilarious stories to tell.

Tuesday, 4th February

Looks like there might be some scattered showers and thunderstorms hanging about, especially down south from Mackay to Longreach. Showers are expected to spread out more, with rain likely to pop up in the far north and tropical east coast above St Lawrence. Watch out for some moderate to heavy rainfall in spots like the Peninsula, Gulf coast, and areas between Bowen and Innisfail. Temperatures are expected to stay pretty chill, especially in central areas. Stay safe out there and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws your way!

Wednesday, 5th February

Buckle up, Queenslanders! We've got a smorgasbord of weather coming your way. From isolated thunderstorms to scattered showers, it's like a choose-your-own-adventure book out there. And don't even get me started on the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall in certain areas - it's like a water park without the fun slides. So, stay safe out there, folks. Remember to pack your umbrella and maybe a life jacket, just in case. And if you see any heatwaves or storms on the horizon, run for cover faster than you can say "I should've listened to the weather forecast."
