National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Well, it seems like we've got some high pressure hanging out in the Tasman Sea, extending a ridge over our state. This high is just going to casually drift northeast over the next day or two, keeping that ridge in place. As a result, we can expect some drier air moving into the far north on Sunday, while the onshore winds take a chill pill and decrease rainfall. But wait, there's more! A trough is set to make an appearance in the far southwest on Saturday, then make its way across southern Queensland on Sunday before fizzling out on Monday. And if that wasn't enough excitement for you, a second trough is gearing up to strut its stuff in the southwest on Tuesday, then make its way north across southern and central Queensland starting Wednesday. This second trough might even make its way up to northern Queensland by Thursday or Friday. Now, we all know how unpredictable storms and heatwaves can be, so let's all just remember to stay safe out there, folks. And maybe keep an umbrella handy, just in case Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum.

NSW and ACT:

Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive this weekend, with a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea and a low pressure trough causing some chaos inland. Brace yourselves for the next cold front and its trusty trough making their way across the state, bringing some stormy weather to the south and west. Don't worry, they'll be stalling over the North Coast for a bit, giving you a chance to batten down the hatches and stay safe during the heatwaves and storms ahead.

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, folks! A low pressure trough is making its way across western Victoria, bringing with it some wild weather. As it moves eastward, the state will slowly start to calm down, but not before giving us a good taste of what Mother Nature is capable of. After the trough passes, a milder southwesterly airstream will take over, courtesy of a high pressure system building to the west. This system will extend a ridge over Bass Strait, keeping things relatively stable for the next few days. However, don't let your guard down just yet - an inland trough might make an appearance on Tuesday, stirring things up once again. So, stay safe out there and be prepared for whatever storms or heatwaves may come your way. And remember, when it doubt, it's always better to be safe than sorry!

SA:

Well, it seems like we have some troughs making a grand entrance in the northeast and southern regions. As they slowly move around, they're causing a bit of a stir. And let's not forget about that high pressure ridge making its way through the south of SA – talk about a party crasher! So, to all you brave souls out there, make sure to keep an eye out for any stormy behaviour or scorching heatwaves. Stay safe and don't let these weather shenanigans catch you off guard. Remember, it's better to be prepared than sorry. So, buckle up and weather the storm – literally.

WA:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody in the Pilbara region. We've got some high pressure ridge making its way in, bringing along some fresh southwesterly winds. And let's not forget about that trough extending into the Interior - talk about drama! Oh, and there's a tropical low expected to join the party off the Kimberley coast. It's like a storm just can't resist crashing the Pilbara coastline. So, folks, make sure you stay safe out there and batten down the hatches. We don't want anyone getting caught in the middle of a heatwave or stormy situation. Stay safe, stay dry, and keep an eye on those weather updates!

TAS:

Well, it seems like our dear old state is in for a bit of a rough patch with all these weather shenanigans. We've got a pesky low pressure system hanging around on Friday and early Saturday, followed by a cold front crashing the party on Saturday afternoon. Then, just when you thought it was safe to come out of your air-conditioned cocoon, a cooler west to southwesterly wind is expected to blow in on Sunday and stick around for Monday. But wait, there's more! Just when you think you've seen it all, another cold front is set to make an appearance on Tuesday morning. So, dear citizens, buckle up and hold on tight because it's going to be a bumpy ride. Remember to stay safe out there, whether you're braving the storm or sweating through the heatwave. You never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve next!

NT:

Well, isn't it just delightful to hear about all these troughs and ridges? Just makes you want to break out the picnic basket and head to the beach, doesn't it? But hold your horses, because those humid northeasterly winds are no joke. They're like that annoying friend who just won't leave you alone. And let's not forget about that trough sneaking its way over from Western Australia. It's like the uninvited guest at a party - you never know what kind of chaos it might bring. So, as we navigate through these stormy seas of weather patterns, let's remember to stay safe and prepared. Keep an eye on the forecast, dress appropriately, and maybe invest in a good umbrella. Because when it comes to Mother Nature, you never know when she might decide to throw a heatwave or storm our way. Stay safe out there, friends!

Saturday, 7th December

Looks like there will be a bit of weather happening today, with some sun in the central interior and a chance of showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Don't be surprised if you get caught in a downpour, especially in the southeast near Townsville. Keep an eye out for those severe thunderstorms in the far southwest, they could bring heavy rain. The winds will be doing their own little dance today, starting off northeast to southeasterly before switching to northwest to northeasterly in southern Queensland. And let's not forget about the far southwest, where the winds will be feeling a bit rebellious and turning southeast to southwesterly later on. Temperatures will be all over the place, with some areas experiencing above average heat. So make sure to stay hydrated and find some shade if you're feeling the burn. And if you're in the west, be extra careful as there are some severe heatwave conditions headed your way. So, stay safe out there, folks. Mother Nature is feeling a bit unpredictable today, so make sure to keep yourself protected from any storms or heatwaves that may come your way.

Sunday, 8th December

Hold onto your hats, Queenslanders! It's shaping up to be a scorcher out there, with mostly sunny skies in the central and northern interior. But don't let that fool you - isolated to shattered showers and thunderstorms are lurking in other areas, ready to strike when you least expect it. In fact, there's a chance of severe thunderstorms popping up inland in southern and central Queensland, so be sure to keep an eye on the skies. And if you're in the eastern districts between Cairns and the Sunshine Coast, morning fog could make for a tricky commute. With maximum temperatures above average in eastern and central districts south of Mackay, it's definitely going to be a hot one. In fact, severe heatwave conditions are expected in parts of western, central, and northern Queensland, so make sure to stay cool and hydrated. So while Mother Nature may be throwing a tantrum today, just remember to stay safe and weather the storm - both literally and figuratively.

Monday, 9th December

Prepare for a smorgasbord of weather delights across Queensland today. We've got sunshine galore in the central and northern interior, with a side of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms scattered around. Don't worry, those showers in eastern districts are just passing through between Cooktown and Bundaberg. But hold onto your hats, because there's a chance of severe thunderstorms inland south of Emerald and east of Charleville. And watch out for morning fog between Innisfail and Mackay - it's like a mysterious blanket that Mother Nature has thrown over the landscape. Now, let's talk temperatures. It's going to be hotter than a jalapeno pepper south of Hughenden and over the Daintree Coast, while the rest of us will be basking in near-average warmth. In fact, we're looking at some severe heatwave conditions in parts of western, central, and northern Queensland. So stay cool and hydrated, folks - we don't want anyone melting out there. Remember, safety first in the face of storms and heatwaves. Keep an eye on the sky and take precautions to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Stay weather-wise, Queensland!

Tuesday, 10th December

Grab your sunscreen and stay hydrated, folks! Mother Nature is turning up the heat in central and northern Queensland with severe heatwave conditions. Keep an eye out for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northern interior, but don't be surprised if they fizzle out to just showers in eastern districts. Maximum temperatures are soaring above average between Hughenden and Bundaberg and over the Daintree Coast, so be sure to take caution and stay safe during these stormy and sweltering conditions.
