National Synoptic Situation

National Temperature and Rainfall

State conditions

QLD:

Hold onto your hats, folks, because we've got a trough stretching from the northwest to the southern interior! And if that's not exciting enough, there's a weak ridge hanging out over northern Queensland thanks to a high chilling in the Tasman Sea. But wait, there's more - this trough is going to slowly drift westward over the next few days before making its grand exit into central Australia by the weekend. But fear not, because an upper trough is swooping in to give us some much-needed rainfall in the southeastern quarter of the state on Monday, before making a swift exit offshore by Tuesday. And just when you thought things couldn't get any more thrilling, a new high is making its way into the Tasman Sea on Friday, extending a ridge over most of the state for a few days. So, while we may not have a storm brewing or a heatwave on the horizon, it's always important to stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. So grab your umbrellas and sunscreen, folks, and brace yourselves for some wild weather ahead!

NSW and ACT:

Well, brace yourselves for some wild weather, folks! A high pressure system is flexing its muscles over the Bight and spreading its influence across New South Wales. This high will soon make its way over to the Tasman Sea, while a trough sets up camp over the inland. As if that's not enough excitement, a new high is making its way over from the west to join the party. But wait, there's more! A weak trough is expected to saunter along the southern coast on Tuesday before deciding to take a leisurely break. And just when you thought things might calm down, a more lively change is set to arrive later in the week as a cold front sweeps by to the south. So, as we navigate these stormy seas and heatwaves, remember to stay safe out there, folks!

VIC:

Well, it seems like a weak high pressure ridge is just chilling over the State, taking a little vacation until Monday. But watch out, because a trough is about to crash the party and cause some drama over eastern Australia, extending southwards into central Victoria. Things are really heating up on Tuesday as the trough deepens over northeastern parts, and it's not going anywhere until Thursday. Meanwhile, a new ridge is making its way over western and central Victoria, ready to take over the spotlight. So, buckle up and prepare for some stormy weather and scorching heatwaves. Remember to stay safe out there, folks!

SA:

So, it seems like Mother Nature is playing around with a weak ridge of high pressure over South Australia, followed by a weak trough moving across the Bight on Monday. But wait, there's more! A high pressure system will strut its stuff across the Bight on Tuesday and make its way into the Tasman Sea later in the week. Now, we all know how temperamental storms can be, so it's probably a good idea to stay safe and keep an eye out for any unexpected heatwaves or wild weather. Remember, it's always better to be prepared than sorry!

WA:

Well, isn't that just peachy keen? We've got ourselves a charming little low pressure trough loitering about in the northern regions of the state. This could potentially lead to some rather thrilling stormy situations and perhaps even a touch of sweltering heatwave action. So, do be a dear and take all necessary precautions to stay safe out there, won't you?

TAS:

Hold onto your hats, Tasmania! We've got a westerly airstream coming in today, switching to a chilly northwesterly on Monday thanks to a cold front rolling in from the west. This front will sweep across the state early Tuesday, bringing with it a cooler west to southwesterly breeze. But don't get too comfortable, because another cold front is on the horizon for Wednesday. This one will bring a southwesterly stream that will linger into Thursday before easing up thanks to a high pressure centre over the Bight extending its reach towards us. So, stay safe out there and make sure to keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way!

NT:

So, it looks like we've got a ridge hanging out in southern NT and a trough chilling in the northern Barkly District for a few days. Oh, and let's not forget about that weak ridge trying to make friends in the Top End - but it's kinda losing its strength by Tuesday. Now, with all this weather talk, it's important to remember to stay safe out there, especially with storms and heatwaves potentially on the horizon. So, folks, make sure to take precautions and stay hydrated during this weather rollercoaster.
