State conditions

QLD:

Looks like we've got a tropical low and trough hanging out near the Whitsunday Islands, casually moving eastwards. Meanwhile, there's a weak ridge chilling over southeastern Queensland, and an inland trough just wandering about in the southwest. Keep an eye out for that trough making its way eastwards early next week, with a southeasterly change following closely behind. Don't forget about the ridge and stay safe out there! And hey, that trough will eventually make its way back to western Queensland. Stay safe, folks!

NSW and ACT:

It appears that NSW and the ACT are in for a spell of scorching heat, with a high pressure ridge stretching across the region. This will be accompanied by a developing trough in the west, making for some rather toasty conditions. It is advisable to take precautions and stay safe in the face of such extreme weather. But fear not, for relief is on the horizon! A cold front is set to sweep through the state late Sunday and into Monday, providing some much-needed respite from the sweltering heat. However, this temporary cool down will be followed by the formation of another ridge, promising settled conditions just in time for Christmas. To add a bit of excitement to the mix, another trough or cold front is predicted to make an appearance later in the week. So, brace yourselves for some potentially stormy weather ahead. Remember to stay safe and prepared for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw our way.

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, Victorians! A high pressure system is making itself at home over the Bight, sending a cool southwesterly airstream our way. But don't get too comfortable, because a cold front is ready to crash our party on Sunday evening and clear out by Monday morning. As if that wasn't enough excitement, the high pressure system will be slowly making its way east over southern Victoria by late Tuesday, before heading off into the Tasman Sea by late Wednesday. But wait, there's more - another front is gearing up to swoop in from the west on Thursday and Friday. So, buckle up and stay safe out there, folks. Storms and heatwaves may come and go, but it's always best to be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.

SA:

Hold onto your hats, folks! A stubborn ridge of high pressure is camped out over the waters to the south of our state, bringing in those ever-so refreshing southerly winds. But don't let your guard down just yet, as a sneaky weak front is lurking in the shadows, ready to make an appearance in the southeast come Sunday. As if that wasn't enough excitement for one forecast, a high pressure system is gearing up to take over the Bight early next week. So, batten down the hatches and stay safe out there as we navigate through these stormy seas of weather patterns. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum.

WA:

Ah, looks like Mother Nature has decided to spice things up with a trough extending from the inland Kimberley to near the Pilbara coast. Brace yourselves for potential storms and heatwaves in the area. Remember to stay safe and prepared for any extreme weather conditions that may come your way.

TAS:

Well, it seems like we've got a weak ridge hanging out over the state, while a cold front is slowly making its way towards the west. Brace yourselves, because this cold front is expected to pass through on Sunday, ushering in a cooler southwesterly stream on Monday. And to top it all off, we've got a high pressure system chilling out to the east of the Bight, extending a ridge over Tasmania on Tuesday before deciding to move right over us on Wednesday. So, basically, we're in for some stormy and potentially scorching weather ahead. Remember to stay safe and prepare accordingly for any heatwaves or storms that may come our way.

NT:

Watch out for some stormy weather down south, with a weak trough making its way into Queensland. As temperatures rise in the southern and central regions, keep an eye out for a trough moving into the NT later in the week. Stay safe and be prepared for any heatwaves or storms that may come your way.

Sunday, 22nd December

It seems like Mother Nature is feeling a little moody today, with a mix of sunshine, showers, and the possibility of thunderstorms scattered around Queensland. In the southwest, you might want to keep an eye out for storms while enjoying the partly cloudy skies. Up north, from Mackay to Hughenden, there's a chance of some showers and thunderstorms to keep things interesting. If you find yourself in Far North Queensland, be prepared for some heavy rainfall with those storms, especially north of Ingham and south of Weipa. Don't let the sun fool you elsewhere in the state, as winds are expected to pick up along the east coast between Townsville and Hervey Bay. Make sure to stay safe and secure any loose items, as those fresh winds can be a bit mischievous. Temperatures will be near or above average in the south, especially in the far southern inland areas. In the north, things are a bit more chill, with temperatures either near or below average. So, keep an umbrella handy, watch out for those thunderstorms, and above all, stay safe out there!

Monday, 23rd December

Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with some scattered showers and thunderstorms popping up in the southeast. Up north near Townsville, there might be a little bit of rain too. But don't worry, it's mostly sunny everywhere else. Now, be prepared for some above-average temperatures down south, which could even reach scorching levels in the interior. And watch out for those severe heatwave conditions creeping back into the northwest. So, stay safe out there, folks! Keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves and make sure to stay cool and hydrated. Mother Nature doesn't mess around, so it's best to be prepared.

Tuesday, 24th December

Well, looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody up north of Cairns, with a chance of thunderstorms and isolated showers. Keep an umbrella handy, unless you want to risk getting caught in a surprise downpour. As for the rest of the coastal fringe and northeastern interior, it's looking like just a sprinkle here and there. But don't let that fool you, the sun will be shining bright elsewhere. Central and northern parts are in for a toasty day, with temperatures soaring above average. Meanwhile, the far southwest gets a break with slightly cooler weather. Oh, and let's not forget about those severe heatwave conditions possibly making a comeback in the North Tropical Coast and North West. Stay safe and hydrated, folks. Mother Nature doesn't mess around when it comes to heatwaves.

Wednesday, 25th December

Get ready to sweat it out in Queensland as temperatures soar above average in the west and far north. Don't be fooled by the isolated showers in central and northern regions - the sun will be shining bright in the south and west. Keep an eye out for severe heatwave conditions, especially in the North Tropical Coast and North West. Stay safe and hydrated, folks!
