National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Hold onto your hats, Queenslanders! It looks like we've got some wild weather heading our way. A coastal trough is making its way up the east coast, while a ridge is strengthening over the southern part of the state. This combination is going to bring us some serious storms and heatwaves. There's even talk of a tropical low forming, so we need to be extra cautious. Make sure you stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to crazy weather like this. So batten down the hatches and stay cool, Queensland!

NSW and ACT:

Hold onto your hats, folks! It seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this week. A ridge of high pressure is stretching across NSW and the ACT, while a sneaky trough is making its way into the west. This combination is bringing in some scorching hot and dry air for the next few days. So, make sure you stay cool and hydrated as the heatwave heads our way. And don't let your guard down just yet, because a cold front is expected to sweep through late Sunday and into Monday. But fear not, a calm ridge should follow in time for Christmas. Just when you thought it was safe to relax, another trough or cold front is lurking on the horizon for later in the week. So, keep an eye on the forecast and stay safe out there, folks! Mother Nature has a sense of humor, and she's not afraid to show it.

VIC:

Hold onto your hats, Victoria! We've got a low pressure trough making its way over central Victoria, heading towards the east. This will be followed by a high pressure system extending a ridge over southern Victoria. But wait, there's more - a cold front is lurking to the southwest, ready to swoop in on Sunday night. As if that wasn't enough excitement, a cool southwesterly airstream will be taking over the State. By Tuesday night, the high pressure system will be chilling out over central Bass Strait. So, buckle up and stay safe out there - storms and heatwaves might be on the horizon!

SA:

Looks like Mother Nature is really cranking up the heat this weekend, with a ridge of high pressure keeping things toasty in SA. Don't forget to stay hydrated and seek shade to avoid getting cooked like a BBQ sausage. And watch out for that weak front sneaking in on Sunday - it might stir up some trouble, so batten down the hatches and stay safe out there. A high pressure system will come to the rescue early next week, hopefully bringing some relief from the stormy weather. Stay safe, folks!

WA:

Well, it seems that a trough is casually stretching from the inland Kimberley down to the Pilbara coast. This could potentially lead to some rather tempestuous weather conditions, so best to stay safe out there. Remember, it's always wise to be prepared when Mother Nature decides to spice things up with a storm or heatwave.

TAS:

Get ready to ride the rollercoaster of weather in Tasmania this weekend! A weak trough will be making its way through early Saturday morning, followed by a weak ridge that will come to the state's rescue later in the day. But just when you thought it was safe to go outside, a cold front will be creeping in from the west on Sunday, bringing with it a cooler southwesterly stream on Monday. Don't despair, though, as a high pressure system to the east of the Bight will extend a helping hand by laying down a ridge over Tasmania on Tuesday. So, buckle up and hold on tight as we navigate through these stormy seas of weather fluctuations. Remember to stay safe and prepared for any heatwaves or storms that may come your way!

NT:

Buckle up, Northern Territory residents! There's a trough hanging out in the Barkly and Simpson Districts, playing an extended game of tag until Monday when it gets pushed into Queensland. Meanwhile, another trough is chilling just south of the Top End, probably plotting its next move. The heatwave is in full swing, with scorching temperatures ruling the land. Stay safe out there, folks, and remember to hydrate and seek shade whenever possible. Mother Nature is not messing around with these storms and heatwaves, so be sure to take precautions to avoid any weather-related mishaps.

Saturday, 21st December

Get ready for some wild weather, folks! We've got a mix of partly cloudy skies, isolated showers, and the chance of thunderstorms coming your way. So, brace yourself for some unpredictable conditions. In the central and southern inland regions, you might encounter some isolated showers and thunderstorms. And don't be surprised if you see some partly cloudy skies in eastern and southeast Queensland. Keep an eye out for scattered showers and thunderstorms in central and northern Queensland as well. But that's not all - we're also expecting some heavy rainfall and storms in certain areas. So, if you're north of Bowen or Mount Isa, be prepared for some possible severe weather with damaging wind gusts. With maximum temperatures above average in the far west and inland southern Queensland, and below or well below average in the northern regions, it's safe to say that Mother Nature is up to her usual tricks. So, stay safe out there and be sure to take precautions during these stormy times.

Sunday, 22nd December

Prepare yourself for a mixed bag of weather in Queensland today. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms in the southwest and Granite Belt, so keep an eye out for any sudden bolts of lightning - it's like nature's own fireworks show! Central and northern Queensland may see some scattered showers and the odd rumble of thunder, just to keep things interesting. Far North Queensland could be in for some heavy rainfall, so make sure you have your rubber ducky ready. The Capricornia coast may see a few isolated showers, but don't worry, the sun should still be shining in most other areas. Just remember, stay safe out there and keep an eye on the skies for any unexpected weather surprises!

Monday, 23rd December

Watch out folks, it's going to be a real scorcher out there! We've got some partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the southeast inland. Up north near Townsville, there's a chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms. And don't forget about those isolated showers lurking around northern Queensland and along the coast up to Rockhampton. But hey, don't let the storms and heatwaves get you down! Just remember to stay safe out there and maybe carry an umbrella or some sunscreen. And if you're down south near Hughenden, be prepared for temperatures near or above average. And watch out for those severe heatwave conditions possibly creeping back into the North West. Stay cool and stay safe, folks!

Tuesday, 24th December

Well, it seems like old mate Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody up north. We've got some partly cloudy skies with a side of isolated showers and a sprinkle of thunderstorms north of Cairns. And down the coast, we've got some scattered showers making an appearance from Tuesday onwards, with a chance of thunderstorms crashing the party by Wednesday. Now, brace yourselves folks, because we've got some temperatures that are going to make you sweat like a sinner in church. Maximum temperatures will be soaring above average in central and northwestern parts on Tuesday, before doing a little dance to the west on Wednesday. But don't worry, if you're in the far southwest or southeast, you might just escape with temperatures that are slightly below average. Oh, and let's not forget about our friends up in the North West who might be experiencing some severe heatwave conditions. So, remember to stay safe out there, folks. Keep cool, stay hydrated, and maybe invest in a good ol' fashioned fan.
