National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Hold on to your hats, Queenslanders! Looks like we've got some weather shenanigans coming our way. A coastal trough near the tropical east coast is doing a little dance as it drifts northward and weakens. Meanwhile, a ridge over the southern half of the state is getting its act together and heading north towards Townsville. This dynamic duo is teaming up with a developing equatorial trough across northern Cape York Peninsula to bring us some good ol' fashioned rainfall. But wait, there's more! A tropical low might just decide to crash the party and move off the northeast tropical coast, making a beeline for the Coral Sea over the weekend. As if that wasn't enough excitement, a weak ridge is planning to hang out along the east coast well into the tropics while an inland trough is meandering about western and central Queensland. So, buckle up and stay safe out there, folks! Whether you're dealing with storms or heatwaves, it's always best to be prepared. And remember, Mother Nature has a way of keeping us on our toes, so keep an eye on the forecast and take any necessary precautions.

NSW and ACT:

Well, it seems like we've got some interesting weather patterns happening. A high pressure ridge is just chilling across the state, while an inland trough is getting ready to make its grand entrance over central Australia, slowly creeping its way towards New South Wales. And guess what? A cold front is also gearing up to crash the party in the south of the state late Sunday or early Monday, bringing along the next southerly change. Now, we all know storms and heatwaves can be quite the wild ride, so make sure to stay safe out there, folks. Keep an eye on the weather updates and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. Stay cool and stay safe!

VIC:

Get ready to buckle up, folks, because it looks like Mother Nature is throwing a bit of a tantrum. A high pressure ridge is losing its grip and moving southeast, while an inland trough is getting cozy over central Victoria. This trough is going to make a grand exit to the east by Friday, just in time for a new ridge to swoop in on Saturday. But don't get too comfortable, because another cold front is crashing the party on Sunday. With all this weather drama unfolding, it's important to stay safe and prepared. Keep an eye out for storms and heatwaves, and make sure to take the necessary precautions. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but we can always be one step ahead.

SA:

Get ready to batten down the hatches, because a feeble ridge of high pressure is slinking its way over the waters to the south of the state. A high pressure system and a beefed-up ridge are set to strut their stuff over the Bight starting Friday, ushering in some fresh southerly winds over SA. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a weak front is going to sneakily clip the southeast on Sunday. So, stay safe out there and be prepared for some stormy weather and scorching heatwaves!

WA:

Well, it seems that a rather uninvited guest in the form of a trough has decided to extend its reach from the inland Kimberley to near the Pilbara coast. This could potentially lead to some stormy situations or even heatwaves, so it's probably a good idea to stay safe and be prepared for whatever weather shenanigans this trough may bring our way.

TAS:

Get ready to ride the rollercoaster of weather patterns in Tasmania! A high pressure system is dominating the scene, extending its reach over the state overnight and into Friday. But hold onto your hats, because a weak trough is set to crash the party on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Don't worry, a feeble ridge will try to restore order later on Saturday. But just when you think it's safe to go outside, a cold front is lurking on the horizon, ready to make its grand entrance on Sunday. Brace yourselves for a cooler southwesterly stream on Monday as the drama continues. In the midst of all this meteorological madness, remember to stay safe and weather the storms and heatwaves with caution. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but your safety is always a sure bet!

NT:

Prepare to sweat profusely as a trough lazily lounges across central districts this week, while a ridge stretches its legs into central Australia. The scorching daytime temperatures are not to be underestimated, creating a heatwave that seems to have settled in for the long haul. Stay safe and hydrated as you navigate through these stormy heatwaves, folks.

The weather is looking a bit moody today, with some parts of Queensland experiencing isolated showers and thunderstorms. If you're down south, you might want to keep an eye out for those storm clouds rolling in. And if you're near Rockhampton, don't be surprised if those showers turn into a full-on downpour. Up north, it's a different story - there's a chance of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from Proserpine all the way up to Cooktown. So, if you're in that neck of the woods, make sure you've got your umbrella handy. And let's not forget about the heatwave conditions in northwest Queensland - it's been a scorcher out there! So, remember to stay hydrated and seek shade if you're out and about. In a nutshell, it's a mixed bag of weather today, so stay safe folks and keep an eye on those storm clouds!

Saturday, 21st December

Prepare yourself for a mixed bag of weather across Queensland today. You might encounter some isolated showers and thunderstorms in the southwest, so be sure to pack your umbrella or risk getting caught in a downpour. In the central and northern regions, showers may become more widespread, so stay indoors if you don't want to get caught in the rain. For those living in the far southwest, be on the lookout for severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts - Mother Nature is not holding back in that area! As for temperatures, expect them to be above average in the far west and inland south, but below or well below average in the north - it's like the weather can't make up its mind! So, folks, stay safe out there and don't let the unpredictable weather rain on your parade. And if you happen to see any storms brewing, just remember to stay indoors and keep yourself out of harm's way.

Sunday, 22nd December

Watch out Queenslanders, it's shaping up to be a wild ride out there! We've got some partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and the potential for thunderstorms in the southwest and Granite Belt regions. Central and northern Queensland isn't getting off easy either, with scattered showers and the chance of a thunderstorm from Mackay to Mount Isa. And let's not forget about Far North Queensland, where showers could really amp up and get widespread at times. But wait, there's more! Heavy rainfall could be on the horizon for areas north of Ingham and Burketown, all the way up to Weipa. And if you're hanging out on the Capricornia coast, be prepared for some isolated showers. The good news is that most eastern districts south of Gladstone should stay nice and sunny. Temperatures are all over the place, with some areas near or above average in the south, well above average in the far southwest, and near or below average up north. So, folks, stay safe out there and keep an eye on the skies. Mother Nature has a sense of humour, and she's not afraid to throw a curveball or two our way!

Monday, 23rd December

Prepare yourselves for some scattered showers and the possibility of thunderstorms in certain areas. Keep an eye out for isolated showers in northern Queensland and along the coast north of Rockhampton.
