National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Looks like we've got some interesting weather patterns coming up in Queensland. A weak trough hanging out in the west, a coastal trough causing some thunderstorm action along the coast, and a potential strengthening ridge down south. And let's not forget about the possibility of a trough developing up north on Cape York Peninsula. With all these weather shenanigans going on, it's important to stay safe and be prepared for any storms or heatwaves that may come our way. Keep an eye on the forecast and make sure you have a plan in place just in case things get a little wild out there. Stay safe, Queenslanders!

NSW and ACT:

Prepare yourselves, dear residents of inland New South Wales, for a delightful mixture of scorching heat and cool gusts. A high pressure ridge along the coast, teaming up with a trough over Central Australia, is pulling in a toasty northerly airstream. But fear not, for a refreshing change is on the horizon! A cold front and its trusty trough are set to sweep in from the far southwest on Monday, making their way across most areas by Tuesday and finally reaching the northeast by Wednesday. So, remember to stay safe and hydrated as you navigate this rollercoaster of temperatures. And brace yourselves for potential storms and heatwaves - it's all part of the thrilling adventure that is Australian weather!

VIC:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody this weekend in Victoria. A high pressure system is throwing some shade southwest of the state, creating a broad ridge over us. This high is planning a slow exit stage right, moving towards Bass Strait and the Tasman Sea on Sunday. But wait, there's more drama - a front is coming in hot from western Victoria and is set to cause some chaos on Monday. As if that's not enough, the next high in the bight is getting ready to extend its reach over Victoria from Tuesday onwards. So, brace yourselves for some stormy weather and heatwaves, folks. Remember to stay safe and keep an eye on any weather warnings. Mother Nature can be quite the drama queen, but we'll get through this together.

SA:

Well, brace yourselves for some wild weather ahead. A feeble high pressure system is currently chilling out over the waters to the southeast of our lovely state, but it's packing its bags and heading east to the Tasman Sea on Sunday. This will pave the way for a scorching northerly airstream to sweep through, thanks to a fancy trough forming out west. Expect a cool change to roll in on Monday as the trough makes its grand entrance, followed by a fresh high pressure system setting up shop south of the Bight on Tuesday. Stay safe out there and hold onto your hats, it's gonna be a wild ride!

WA:

Well, isn't that just peachy? We've got a lovely little low pressure system hanging out up north in WA, just doing its thing. And you know what that means - potential for some wild storms and heatwaves. So, be sure to keep yourself safe and cozy indoors while this low pressure system does its thing.

TAS:

Prepare yourselves, dear Tasmanians, for a rollercoaster of weather events heading your way. A high pressure centre will be sauntering over to the east of your lovely state on Sunday, bringing with it a delightful northeasterly airstream to warm things up a bit. But hold onto your hats, because on Monday, a cold front will be crashing the party from the west, ushering in a much warmer northeasterly airstream that will have you breaking out the sunscreen. Just when you thought you could relax, the front will make its grand exit on Monday evening, leaving behind a cooler westerly flow that will have you reaching for your sweaters. But wait, there's more! An embedded trough will be making its way across the state later on Tuesday, bringing with it some blustery southwesterly winds that will make you want to stay indoors with a cup of tea. Fear not, dear Tasmanians, for the southwesterlies will ease off on Wednesday as a friendly ridge approaches from the west, giving you a brief respite from the stormy weather. In conclusion, stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw your way. And remember, when in doubt, just stay indoors and watch the weather from the comfort of your own home.

NT:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody up in the Northern Territory, with a broad area of low pressure making itself at home. And to add to the drama, a scorching heatwave is also making its presence known in those parts. It's like the perfect storm of hot and humid conditions. As if that wasn't enough, a ridge is set to develop across southern NT from Tuesday, adding to the mix of weather shenanigans. So, if you find yourself in the path of these stormy heatwaves, make sure to stay safe and hydrated. Mother Nature may be putting on a show, but that doesn't mean you have to play along. Stay cool and stay safe out there, folks!

Sunday, 15th December

Watch out folks, it's a mixed bag of weather out there in Queensland today. We've got some scattered showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm in certain areas, so make sure to keep an eye out for any stormy surprises. And don't forget your umbrella! If you're in the southeast part of Queensland, you might just be dealing with some good old-fashioned showers. Nothing too exciting, but still, watch your step out there. Now, if you happen to be hanging out along the east coast between Yeppoon and the Sunshine Coast, or up in the northern Peninsula and Torres Strait, you might want to prepare yourself for some widespread showers. And hey, keep an eye out for those possible severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall near Gladstone and Hervey Bay. Mother Nature is feeling a bit dramatic today. And let's not forget about those temperatures. It's going to be hot, hot, hot in western and interior central and southern Queensland, as well as up in the far northeast tropical coast. In fact, we've got some severe heatwave conditions going on in the west and southern interior, with things getting downright extreme in the North West district. Stay cool out there, folks, and make sure to stay safe in this wild weather!

Monday, 16th December

Hold onto your hats, folks! Western and interior Queensland are set to sizzle hotter than a sausage on a barbie. There's a chance of storms lurking around, so be prepared for some electrifying entertainment from Mother Nature. As for the southeast, it's looking a bit more mild with just a sprinkle of showers south of Brisbane. But don't get too comfortable, as there could be some heavy downpours along the Capricornia coast. If you're planning a beach day between Yeppoon and the Sunshine Coast, keep an eye out for those pesky showers that could dampen your day. And let's not forget about the northern Peninsula and Torres Strait, where showers are expected to pop up like mushrooms after a storm. Temperatures are soaring to new heights in the west and interior, while the southeast is keeping it cool. But don't be fooled by the mild weather, as severe heatwave conditions are causing a sweat-fest in the west and southern interior. It's so hot, it's practically boiling over! Stay safe out there and remember to hydrate like your life depends on it. Because let's face it, in this weather, it just might.

Tuesday, 17th December

Get ready for some wild weather in Queensland! We've got storms brewing in the west, central, and southern interior, with a chance of thunderstorms scattered around. Make sure to stay safe as these storms could get severe, especially along the Capricornia coast. And don't forget about the heatwave! Temperatures are soaring well above average in the west and interior, so be sure to stay hydrated and cool. The tropical northeast coast is also feeling the heat, with extreme conditions in the North West district. So folks, remember to stay safe out there and keep an eye on the weather as Mother Nature does her thing.

Wednesday, 18th December

Don't be fooled by a few clouds in western and southern interior Queensland - storms and heatwaves are still on the menu. You might catch a sprinkle or two elsewhere, but showers could spread like gossip at a family reunion. The east coast south of Mackay and the far northern Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait might need to break out the umbrellas. Temperatures are feeling themselves out west and in the interior - above average like a show-off. The central east, on the other hand, is playing it cool with near or below average temps. Watch out for severe heatwave conditions in the west, southern interior, and tropical northeast coast - it's hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. The North West district is really feeling the burn - like a sunburn that won't quit. Stay safe out there, folks. Don't let Mother Nature catch you off guard with her dramatic weather antics.
