National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Watch out for that sneaky trough lingering near the coast, folks! It's enhancing rainfall in its vicinity so make sure to stay safe and dry. The weak ridge over southeastern Queensland will stick around for a while, creating a weak pressure gradient over the rest of the state. Keep an eye out for that potential weak trough developing over far northern Cape York Peninsula from Monday onwards. And remember, storms and heatwaves can be unpredictable, so always be prepared and stay safe out there!

NSW and ACT:

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is throwing a bit of a tantrum down in New South Wales. A weak trough of low pressure is causing a stir from the northern inland all the way down to the southern coast. Meanwhile, we've got a high pressure ridge hanging out in the west and another high chilling in the northern Tasman Sea. But wait, there's more drama to come! A new trough is planning to crash the party along the southern and central coast on Friday, tagging along with a cold front that's just passing through. And just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier, the high pressure over the Tasman Sea is going to start drawing in some scorching hot air across the state. So, folks, buckle up and stay safe out there. With all these storms and heatwaves brewing, it's best to keep an eye on the forecast and make sure you're prepared for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw our way. And remember, when it comes to extreme weather, it's better to be safe than sorry!

VIC:

Well, it seems like we've got a high-pressure party happening in the Bight, extending its reach over Victoria. This high is set to be the life of the weather party until Sunday, when it finally decides to move on to the Tasman Sea. But wait, there's more - a cheeky trough is sneaking up on western Victoria, ready to crash the party on Monday. So buckle up, folks, because things might get a little stormy or hot around here. Stay safe out there!

SA:

Well, it seems like we're in for a thrilling ride with high pressure ridges and systems making their way over our beautiful state. This will bring about a northerly airstream that will surely keep things interesting over the weekend. And just when you thought things couldn't get any more exciting, a trough will be making its grand entrance from the west, promising some late Sunday drama and Monday madness. But let's not forget to stay safe amidst all this stormy and heatwave action. Remember to keep cool, stay hydrated, and maybe even have your umbrella handy, just in case Mother Nature decides to throw us a curveball. So buckle up, folks, and enjoy the show while staying safe out there!

WA:

Well, looks like Mother Nature has decided to throw a bit of a tantrum up north with that broad area of low pressure. Keep an eye out for potential storms and heatwaves in the region, folks. Stay safe out there!

TAS:

Hold onto your hats, Tasmania! A high over the Bight is extending a ridge our way, followed by a weak cold front early Friday. As the high approaches from the northwest on Saturday, brace yourself for some weather whiplash. By Sunday, the high will have moved to the east, bringing in a warmer northerly stream. But wait, there's more! Northerly winds will kick it up a notch on Monday before a cold front swoops in during the afternoon and evening. Stay safe and buckle up for a wild ride through storms and heatwaves ahead!

NT:

Well, it seems Mother Nature has decided to stir things up a bit across northern Australia, with a broad area of low pressure making its presence known. As a weak ridge ushers in some drier air down south, we can expect those thunderstorms to pack up and move northward, becoming a bit more isolated along the way. But hold onto your hats, because things are about to heat up! Large parts of the NT are in for some scorching temperatures over the next few days, as a prolonged heatwave settles in. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, a trough over in WA is set to bring some scattered thunderstorms to the southwest come Saturday. So, while all this stormy and sweltering weather may sound like a wild ride, remember to stay safe out there, folks. Keep cool, stay hydrated, and maybe invest in some good sunscreen. Let's weather this storm together, shall we?

Friday, 13th December

Sunny skies in the west and southwest, but watch out for those isolated showers and thunderstorms sneaking up on you elsewhere. Light showers might grace the southeast coast, but don't be fooled - those showers could turn into a full-blown storm. And speaking of storms, severe thunderstorms are on the horizon with heavy rainfall that could cause some serious flash flooding. Stay safe, folks! As for the temperatures, it's a mixed bag. Maximum temperatures are below average in central Queensland, but near or above average everywhere else. And if you thought that was all, think again. We've got a severe heatwave brewing in the far northeast and making its way to western Queensland. So, remember to stay cool and hydrated in this scorching weather. Stay safe out there!

Saturday, 14th December

Grab your sunscreen and strap in, because western and interior Queensland is looking mostly sunny today. Watch out for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in other areas, especially along the east coast between Mackay and the Sunshine Coast. Temperatures will be above average in the west, so make sure to stay hydrated and find some shade. The severe heatwave conditions are starting to ease in the far northeast, but they're ramping up in the west and southwest. Stay safe out there!

Sunday, 15th December

Prepare yourself for some interesting weather, folks! Expect some scattered showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm in various areas. The heat will be turned up to the max in western and central Queensland, so be sure to stay safe and hydrated. Keep an eye out for severe heatwave conditions, especially in the western and southern parts of the state. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to extreme weather.

Monday, 16th December

Hold onto your hats, folks! It's shaping up to be a scorcher out there in the western and interior parts of Queensland. If you're lucky enough to be in Hughenden or St George, you might catch a break with mostly sunny skies. But for the rest of us, be prepared for some isolated showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm. Keep an eye out for those storms, especially along the east coast from Yeppoon to Hervey Bay. And don't forget to stay safe in this extreme heatwave! Temperatures are soaring well above average in the southwest and just above average in other parts of the state. So, grab your sunscreen and plenty of water, and make sure to take care of yourself in this sweltering weather. Mother Nature is not messing around today, so let's all stay safe out there!
