National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Looks like Queensland is in for some interesting weather this week. A trough is causing some mischief from northwestern Queensland to the east coast, playing with deep moisture like a kid in a candy store. This trough is set to hang around in the north on Thursday and Friday before making its way to the Coral Sea over the weekend. But fear not, it will weaken as the moisture starts to dry up. Meanwhile, a weak ridge is lounging around in southeastern Queensland, enjoying the peace and quiet. It looks like this ridge will stick around for a while, while the rest of the state will have a relaxing weekend with a weak pressure gradient. Just a heads up, a weak trough might pop up over far northern Cape York Peninsula starting from Monday. So, make sure to keep an eye on the weather and stay safe, especially if any storms or heatwaves decide to crash the party.

NSW and ACT:

Get ready for some wild weather ahead, folks! A trough will be hanging out over the northern inland for the next few days, while a high pressure ridge parties it up along the coast. But wait, there's more - another trough is set to crash the party on Friday in southern and central parts of the coast. As if that wasn't enough excitement, get ready to feel the heat as it cranks up in inland New South Wales over the weekend. A lazy high pressure system will be lounging around the Tasman Sea, while a trough decides to make an appearance over Central Australia. So, make sure to stay safe out there, folks. Keep an eye out for any storms or heatwaves headed your way and take the necessary precautions. Mother nature can be a real wild card, so don't get caught off guard!

VIC:

Well, it looks like we've got a stubborn high pressure system parked over the Bight, flexing its dominance over Victoria until Sunday. This high is set to saunter over to the Tasman Sea on Sunday, just in time for a cold front to crash the party in western Victoria. Brace yourselves for some stormy weather as the cold front sweeps across the State on Monday. Remember to stay safe and keep an eye out for any heatwaves or stormy conditions!

SA:

Well folks, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit dramatic this weekend. We've got a high pressure ridge hanging out to the south of SA, with a high pressure system making its way over the Bight on Friday. This system will then saunter east and plop itself right over the Tasman Sea, bringing along a northerly airstream over SA. But wait, there's more! A trough is lurking in the west and will slowly creep its way towards us, reaching the far west by late Sunday. So, brace yourselves for some stormy weather and maybe even a heatwave. Remember to stay safe out there, folks. Keep an eye on the forecast and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.

WA:

Well, looks like Mother Nature is up to her usual tricks again. There's a low pressure system hanging out up north, possibly brewing up a storm or two. Keep an eye out for a tropical low 05U that might decide to show up near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. Stay safe out there and don't get caught in any heatwaves or storms!

TAS:

Hold on to your hats, Tasmania! We've got a ridge of high pressure extending across the Bight, bringing a mostly westerly airstream our way. A strong west to northwesterly airstream is making its presence felt in the south, thanks to a deep low passing by to the south. But wait, there's more! A weak cold front is set to cross over Tasmania early Friday, followed by a ridge on Saturday. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, warm northerly winds are on their way for Sunday as an approaching cold front over the Bight approaches. So, in summary: storms, heatwaves, and wild winds are on the horizon. Stay safe out there, folks!

NT:

Well, it looks like we've got a trough over the Timor and Arafura Seas that's slowly losing steam. Meanwhile, a low pressure system is gearing up to take over northern Australia. The humidity in the southern and central parts of the NT is about to be kicked to the curb by some dry southeasterly winds making their way up north. So, make sure to stay safe out there as these storms and heatwaves start to shake things up!

Thursday, 12th December

Hold on to your hats, folks! It's shaping up to be a scorcher out there. Mostly sunny in the southwest and southern interior, but don't let that fool you - isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are lurking elsewhere. And let's not forget about the possibility of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall between Normanton and Biloela. It's like Mother Nature is throwing a tantrum! With maximum temperatures above average in the far northeast, it's important to stay safe and hydrated. And if you're in far northeastern Queensland, buckle up because severe heatwave conditions are on the horizon. So, keep cool, stay indoors, and ride out the storm - both literally and figuratively. Stay safe out there!

Friday, 13th December

Hope you've got your sunscreen handy, folks! It's all sunshine and rainbows inland in the west and southwest, with a chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Keep an eye out for those showers, especially in the eastern districts between Townsville and Yeppoon. And don't forget, severe heatwave conditions are causing temperatures to soar in far northeastern and western Queensland. Stay safe out there and make sure to drink plenty of water!

Saturday, 14th December

Prepare to sweat it out in western and southwestern Queensland as the temperatures soar to above average levels. Meanwhile, for those inland to the west of Richmond and Roma, expect mostly sunny skies with a chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Remember to stay safe during these severe heatwave conditions and keep an eye out for any looming storms in the forecast.

Sunday, 15th December

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is feeling a bit sassy today, with some scattered showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm lurking around. Inland areas to the west of Richmond and Roma are looking partially cloudy, but don't be fooled - the temperatures are soaring above average in the west, while the rest of us are just chilling at near average levels. But hold on to your hats, folks, because things are heating up in western Queensland and the southern interior. We're talking severe to extreme heatwave conditions here, so make sure you stay safe and hydrated. And if you happen to get caught in a storm, remember to seek shelter and avoid any lightning strikes. Stay cool out there, my friends.
