National Synoptic Situation

Max/Min/Rain for 4 days

Synoptic Situation for

QLD:

Well, it seems like Queensland is in for a rollercoaster of weather patterns. From troughs to moisture, it's like a stormy soap opera out there. Make sure to stay safe as these troughs move around, especially if you're in the path of one heading north. And watch out for that second trough creeping in from the southwest on Friday - it's like a sneaky guest overstaying their welcome. Remember to keep an eye on the weak ridge in southeastern Queensland and the pressure gradient elsewhere next week. Stay safe out there, folks!

NSW and ACT:

Get ready to batten down the hatches, folks! We've got not one, not two, but THREE troughs causing chaos in the northeast of the state. And if that wasn't enough, a sneaky second trough is making its way along the coast, ready to join the party in Queensland overnight. But wait, there's more! From Wednesday, the inland trough will be sticking around like that annoying houseguest who just won't leave. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure decides to show up along the coast, adding to the drama. And just when you thought it couldn't get any stormier, another trough is set to sweep through the southeast on Friday. So, buckle up and stay safe out there, because Mother Nature is clearly in a mood.

VIC:

Well folks, it looks like we're in for some classic Aussie weather this weekend. A stubborn high pressure system in the Bight is flexing its muscles over Victoria, bringing us some scorching heat and potentially stormy conditions. This high is like that one friend who just won't leave the party until they've had their fill of attention. But fear not, for this high pressure system will eventually move on to greener pastures in the Tasman Sea by Sunday. However, just as we think we can finally breathe a sigh of relief, a cold front is set to crash our party on Monday, bringing with it some much-needed cool relief but also the potential for stormy weather. So, as we navigate through these turbulent weather patterns, remember to stay safe and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. And if you find yourself caught in a storm or heatwave, just remember to stay cool and weather the storm like a true Aussie. Stay safe out there, mates!

SA:

Prepare yourselves, dear friends, for a high pressure ridge is making its way over the southern regions of our state. This ridge comes with an accompanying high that will soon venture into the Bight by Wednesday. As Thursday rolls around, this high will lose a bit of its strength, resulting in a feeble pressure gradient across the state. Fear not, for on Friday, the high will still be loitering around the Bight before deciding to saunter its way eastwards. Remember to stay safe during potential storms or heatwaves that may arise from these weather patterns. Keep hydrated, seek shade, and take necessary precautions to protect yourselves. Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but with a bit of knowledge and caution, we can weather any storm that comes our way.

WA:

Well, well, we've got a cheeky low pressure system hanging out up north. Keep an eye out for potential tropical low 05U trying to crash the party near Kimberley. If it decides to show up, it might strut its stuff towards Kimberley and Pilbara. Stay safe out there, folks - storms and heatwaves are no joke!

TAS:

Hold on to your hats, Tasmania! It looks like we're in for a wild ride this week with a ridge of high pressure calling the shots. Expect a mostly westerly airstream to dominate the weather scene, keeping things interesting. But wait, there's more! A strong northwesterly airstream is set to swoop in on Wednesday evening, thanks to a deep low passing by to the south. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, an embedded cold front is scheduled to make an appearance on Friday, followed by a ridge on Saturday to bring some peace and calm. So, buckle up and stay safe out there, folks! With storms and heatwaves potentially on the horizon, it's important to be prepared and take necessary precautions. Mother nature may have some tricks up her sleeve, but we can weather the storm together. Stay safe and enjoy the show!

NT:

Well, brace yourselves for some changing weather patterns in the Northern Territory. The trough over the Timor and Arafura Seas is slowly saying its goodbyes while a new player, a broad area of low pressure, takes the stage up north. High humidity in the southern and central parts of the NT will soon be a thing of the past as dry southeasterly winds swoop in, making their way northward. This shift is due to a high making its grand entrance across the Bight. As we navigate through these stormy seas of weather changes, it's important to stay safe and prepared. Keep an eye out for any potential heatwaves or storms on the horizon and take necessary precautions to ensure your well-being. Stay safe out there!

Wednesday, 11th December

Looks like we're in for some scorching temperatures in the Central West District. Keep your cool and stay hydrated to avoid becoming a crispy critter. And don't forget to seek shelter if those storm clouds start brewing - Mother Nature has a habit of throwing some wild weather our way. Stay safe out there, friends!

Thursday, 12th December

Well, it seems like the sun is shining down on the southwest today, while the rest of us might have to deal with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Don't worry, though, these storms are mostly just giving us a light sprinkle - especially along the southeast coast. If you happen to be between Bowen and Gladstone, you might want to grab an umbrella because it looks like there will be some widespread showers coming your way. And if you find yourself between Cardwell and Mackay, be prepared for some possible severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Temperatures are all over the place today - above average in the far northeast and north of Cairns, below average in southern Cape York Peninsula, and near average everywhere else. Oh, and let's not forget about the severe heatwave conditions in parts of far northern Queensland. Stay cool, folks, and make sure to stay safe out there!

Friday, 13th December

Get ready to sweat it out, folks! Mother Nature is turning up the heat in western Queensland, so make sure you stay hydrated and seek shade. In the southwest and inland west, you can expect sunny skies with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms elsewhere. Remember to stay safe during any storms that may pop up and keep an eye on those maximum temperatures. Stay cool out there!

Saturday, 14th December

Well, it looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit dramatic today. We've got some scattered showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm here and there. Just a heads up, folks - there's a chance of isolated thunderstorms up north near Cairns. Inland to the west of Richmond and Roma, you can expect mostly sunny skies. But be warned, things are heating up in the southwest and western Queensland. We're talking severe heatwave conditions, so stay safe out there and make sure to stay hydrated. And if you do happen to get caught in a storm, remember to seek shelter and avoid any lightning strikes. Mother Nature can be quite the show-off, so let's make sure we're prepared for whatever she throws our way.
