National 4 Day Forecast
Windy.com NEW ACCESS 4 Day Accumulated Rain and Synoptic
Wednesday, 4th September
Looks like some parts of the state are about to get a bit toasty, so maybe hold off on that spontaneous BBQ in the middle of a dry field. Remember, high fire dangers mean it's not just your marshmallows that might get roasted. Stay safe and maybe invest in a fire extinguisher or two.
Thursday, 5th September
Get your sunglasses ready because it's going to be a sunny day across most of the state. However, if you're on the east coast near Bundaberg, you might want to pack an umbrella for those isolated showers. And watch out for scattered showers on the Central Coast and Whitsundays - you don't want to get caught in the rain there! If you're up north near Ingham, expect those showers to turn into a full-on downpour. And for those in the Daintree and Cassowary Coast areas, be prepared for some moderate rainfall - you might need to break out the rain boots. Don't let the sunny weather fool you, though. Those fresh and gusty north to northeasterly winds could lead to some elevated fire dangers in the west and northwest. So maybe hold off on that backyard BBQ for now. And if you're planning on a cozy night in, you're in luck - overnight temperatures will be below average in the central to southeastern interior. But if you're out and about during the day, expect above average temperatures in the far west and southwest, and slightly below average in the east. Stay cool, folks!
Friday, 6th September
Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive today, with a mix of sun and showers across the state. Don't forget your umbrella if you're heading to the east coast or inland north of Bundaberg, where isolated showers are expected. And if you're in the Central Coast, Whitsundays, or north of Ingham, be prepared for showers to become more scattered throughout the day. Over in the Daintree and Cassowary Coasts, it's a different story with widespread showers on the horizon. And let's not forget about those fresh to strong northeasterly winds causing potential fire hazards in the western interior - not exactly ideal BBQ weather. Despite the unpredictable weather, temperatures are set to be above average in the southwest and southern interior. So, grab your sunscreen and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way today!
Saturday, 7th September
Get ready to bask in the glorious sunshine across most of the state today! However, don't forget your umbrella if you're heading to the east coast or inland north of Bundaberg, where isolated showers are expected. Showers will also be scattered about the Central Coast and Whitsundays, as well as north of Ingham. And if you find yourself in the Daintree or Cassowary Coasts, be prepared for some scattered to widespread showers. Temperatures will be above average in the southwest and southern interior, so make sure to stay hydrated and slap on that sunscreen. Mother Nature is definitely keeping us on our toes today!

Regional Round-Up
North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:
Expect a mix of clouds but not a mix-up on rain chances—high near the coast and medium inland. Wind will blow like a decisive compass needle from the east to southeast at 25 to 40 km/h, ensuring no leaf dares to stay still. Nights will be cooler than a cucumber salad, with mercury levels dipping to 15-20, while daytime will bring a range wider than a Kardashian family feud—21 to 29. So, keep your umbrellas ready, your sweaters handy, and your wits about you!
Herbert and Lower Burdekin:
Cloud cover will be present with showers likely in the north and a moderate chance elsewhere, so bring an umbrella just in case. Expect brisk easterly winds blowing at 25 to 35 km/h. Overnight, temperatures will dip down to a cozy 15 to 19 degrees, perfect for snuggling in bed, while daytime temperatures will climb to a pleasant 23 to 28 degrees for a nice day out.
Central Coast and Whitsundays:
Cloudy with a slight chance of showers, so keep your umbrella handy. Expect strong winds coming from the east to southeasterly direction at 25-40 km/h, ensuring your hair will have that wind-blown look. Overnight temperatures will drop to a mildly cool 15-18 degrees, perfect for cozying up under the blankets, while daytime temperatures will hover in the pleasant low to high 20s, giving you a reason to step outside and embrace the weather.
Peninsula:
Tomorrow, expect some drama in the sky with scattered clouds and a moderate risk of rain near the shoreline, but elsewhere, you might as well bring your own water to hydrate those dry hopes of precipitation. Brace yourself for an easterly wind sprinting at speeds of 25 to 35 km/h, making you feel like Mary Poppins minus the magical ride. Nighttime temperatures will drop like a mic from 17 to 22 degrees, so cozy up with a blanket, and during the day, the heat will rise like a phoenix to 30 to 35 degrees, ensuring you'll be sweating buckets faster than you can say "where's the nearest pool?"
Gulf Country:
It's a sunny day ahead, with easterly winds blowing at 20 to 30 km/h - perfect for flying a kite, or sliding across the floor in your socks. Overnight, temperatures will dip to a cozy 18-22 degrees - ideal for snugly blankets or stargazing on the porch. Daytime will bring the heat, reaching the low to mid 30s - time to break out the sunscreen and maybe even start a sidewalk egg-frying competition. No rain in sight - your plants will have to wait for a drink, or maybe you'll have to step up and play the role of backyard sprinkler.
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:
Expect a mix of clouds with a sprinkle possible near the Gregory Ranges, but don't hold your breath for rain elsewhere. Brace for easterly winds blowing at 25 to 40 km/h - hold onto your hat! Nighttime temps will dip between 14 to 18 degrees, so grab a blanket, while daytime mercury will rise between 26 to 33 degrees - sunblock and water bottle are a must!
Capricornia:
A mix of clouds and sun will grace the skies today, with a hint of rain wanting to make a cameo appearance near the coast, but don't hold your breath elsewhere. The wind is feeling sassy, blowing from the east to southeasterly direction at a brisk 25 to 35 km/h. As the night approaches, temperatures will play hide and seek, dropping between 9 and 16 degrees Celsius. But fear not, daytime will bring the mercury back up to the mid to high 20s, giving us a taste of those warmer days ahead.
Central Highlands and Coalfields:
Expect a sunny day so don't forget your sunglasses, unless you enjoy squinting. Winds will start as a gentle breeze from the east but will escalate to a speed that could mess up your hairdo unless you have a sturdy hat. Overnight, temperatures will drop, reminding you that it's officially autumn - snuggle up under the covers to stay cozy. Daytime will be warm, almost as if summer is sneaking in for one last hurrah before winter settles in. No need for an umbrella today, unless you plan on doing a rain dance.
Central West:
Tomorrow promises a blend of both warmth and breeziness, with easterly winds set to kick things up a notch in the morning (15 to 25 km/h ramping up to 25 to 40 km/h). Expect comfortable nighttime temperatures hovering between 10 and 15, while daytime mercury levels are predicted to climb to a toasty 27 to 32. Rain-wise, it’s a dry affair, so no need for umbrellas!
North West:
Expect a sunny day with winds starting from the southeast at a leisurely pace of 15 to 25 km/h, but hold onto your hat as they switch to an easterly direction and pick up speed to 25 to 35 km/h by morning. Overnight, it'll cool down to a cozy 14-19 degrees, but don't get too comfortable because daytime temperatures will soar to the low to mid 30s. Keep an umbrella handy as rain is not in the forecast, but be prepared for gusty conditions and a gradual increase in heat throughout the day. Enjoy the sunshine, just remember to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the scorching temperatures!
Channel Country:
Batten down the hatches and grab your sunscreen, folks! A sunny day ahead with brisk winds shifting from east to southeasterly in the morning, then a dramatic turn to northeasterly speeds of 25 to 40 km/h. Temperatures will dip to a cozy 9 to 13°C overnight before soaring to a toasty 30 to 35°C during the day. Don't be surprised if your hat becomes a UFO in those gusts!
Maranoa and Warrego:
It's a classic case of changing winds playing tag from east to southeasterly in the morning, then switching over to northeasterly with speeds of 20 to 30 km/h, finally calming down to a gentle 15-20 km/h breeze by evening. Overnight lows of 6-9°C set the stage for a cool night, but brace yourself for a toasty day ahead with temperatures climbing up to a pleasant 30°C under clear and sunny skies. Make sure to keep your sunnies handy and maybe even dust off that BBQ for a perfect day out!
Darling Downs and Granite Belt:
Sunny skies with winds starting from the east at 15 to 20 km/h, picking up speed to 30 km/h before doing a quick direction change to the northeast at 15 to 20 km/h, ensuring a windy day ahead; temperatures dropping overnight to a cozy 5 to 8 degrees, but warming up nicely to the pleasant low to mid 20s during the day, making it a perfect weather for outdoor activities.
Wide Bay and Burnett:
Partly cloudy with a sprinkle of potential showers by the coast but don't worry, you're not likely to get caught in the rain. Expect winds to start southeasterly, shift to easterly, and then finally become a comfortable east to southeasterly breeze. Nighttime will be cool, with temperatures dropping to 7-15°C, while daytime will offer pleasant low to mid 20s for your comfort.
Southeast Coast:
The weather will be feeling indecisive with just a sprinkle of rain possible near the coast, so don't forget your umbrella as the winds dance from south to southeasterly, then playfully shift to the east. Temperatures will be chillier at night, snuggling between 7 and 14, while daytime will greet you with a warm hug in the low to mid 20s.
