National

A persistent high near New Zealand will be taking up prime real estate over most of the state, with plans to eventually move east in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, a trough in the southwest is going on a road trip across southern and central Queensland, making a quick pit stop along the southeast coast before fizzling out inland. Down in the Southern Ocean or the Great Australian Bight, another high will be hanging out for a while, keeping that ridge in place. It might even decide to venture into the Tasman Sea for a change of scenery next week. Watch out for a potential trough lurking in the far west, ready to draw moisture inland and causing a cloud band to crash the party next week.

Windy.com NEW ACCESS 4 Day Accumulated Rain and Synoptic

Thursday, 12th September

Well, it appears that the risk of fires is quite high in the western and central districts. So if you were planning on roasting marshmallows or doing your best impression of a human torch, you might want to think twice. Remember, when the fire danger rating is high, it's best to avoid playing with matches or doing anything that could spark a blaze. Stay safe out there, friends!

Friday, 13th September

Prepare yourselves for some sporadic rain showers in the east, central, and southern regions below Moranbah and east of Charleville, as well as over northern Cape York Peninsula. Expect these showers to become more widespread in the southeast during the morning, while the rest of the areas will mostly enjoy sunny weather. Don't be surprised if you encounter some morning fog in the eastern districts from Ingham to Rockhampton. Temperatures will be below average in the southeast and near average elsewhere. So, grab your umbrellas and enjoy the unexpected sprinkles throughout the day!

Saturday, 14th September

Prepare yourself for a smattering of rain in the east and over northern Cape York Peninsula. The sun will be making its grand appearance in other areas. Temperatures will be a bit cooler than usual in the southeast, but pretty much on par everywhere else.

Sunday, 15th September

A smattering of showers will grace the eastern districts and Cape York Peninsula, while the northwest will see a sprinkle or two. The rest of us can bask in mostly sunny conditions, though don't be surprised if morning fog tries to dampen your spirits in the southeast. Temperatures will be below average in the southeast, but fear not, they'll be near average everywhere else.
