National Synoptic Situation

A game of tug-of-war with a trough extending from the northwest to the Wide Bay coast, weakening as the day goes on. Meanwhile, a high in the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge over the east of the state, slowly drifting east over the next few days. But wait, there's more! A trough is set to make an appearance in the far southwest on Monday, deciding to stick around and become slow moving in the southern and southeastern interior from Tuesday onwards. It will eventually weaken over the mid-week period, only to be replaced by another trough late next week in the southwest of the state. Mother Nature sure knows how to keep us on our toes!

Sunday, 3rd November

Well, it seems like those lucky folks in the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields, Upper Flinders, Central Coast, Whitsundays, Central Highlands, Coalfields, Central West, North West, Channel Country, Maranoa, Warrego, and Darling Downs Granite Belt are in for some high temperatures today. So, if you happen to be in any of those areas, make sure to stay hydrated and maybe invest in some extra sunscreen. It's going to be a scorcher out there!

Monday, 4th November

Prepare for some spotty showers and the possibility of thunderstorms down south and in the southern interior, with a sprinkle or two likely around the Granite Belt. You might also encounter some isolated showers in the east and the western Gulf Country, with a bit more scattered activity up north in the Cape York Peninsula. The rest of the region should be mostly sunny, but watch out for those fresh and gusty northwesterly winds causing some extreme fire dangers in the Channel Country District. Temperatures will be higher than usual south of Longreach, much higher than usual across inland southern Queensland, and just about average everywhere else. So, keep an eye out for those rain clouds and stay safe in the heat!

Tuesday, 5th November

Prepare your umbrellas east of Charleville and south of Emerald, as there is a slight possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Don't forget your raincoat on the northeast tropical coast, where isolated showers may turn into scattered rain. If you're in the southwest, expect partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the region will enjoy mostly sunny conditions. Temperatures will be above average south of Winton, well above average in inland southern Queensland, and near average everywhere else. So, grab your sunscreen and maybe a fan if you're in the hotter areas - Mother Nature is serving up a mixed bag of weather today!

Wednesday, 6th November

Looks like there might be some isolated showers and thunderstorms lurking around Charleville and Springsure in the east. Down south in the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, those showers might become a bit more sociable. Up north near Ingham, we could see some scattered showers making an appearance. Over in the Cape York Peninsula, those showers might be feeling a bit more adventurous. The southwest might be feeling a bit shy with just some clouds hanging around, while the rest of us will be basking in mostly sunny skies. As for temperatures, they'll be above average down south near Winton, well above average in the southern interior, and just about average everywhere else. So, grab your umbrella if you're heading east, and make sure to pack some sunscreen for those sunny spots!
