Dry and stable weather will prevail in most areas of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and central Australia due to a high-pressure system. Cold fronts will bring showers to the southwest of Western Australia and the western and northern parts of Tasmania. Humid easterly winds will cause showers along the coasts of Queensland and northern New South Wales, as well as in the northeast of the Northern Territory.

  • Monday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers in SE Queensland, the Whitsundays, N Tropical Coast and Torres Strait. Mostly clear elsewhere. Light to moderate east-southeasterly winds, fresh near coast N of Mackay. Winds light and variable in SW Queensland.

  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers in the east and Torres Strait. Showers spreading to some coastal areas and North Tropical Coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Temperatures average.

  • Wednesday: Eastern districts, Torres Strait, northern and central interior = Partly cloudy, isolated showers. Scattered showers on North Tropical Coast. Elsewhere = Partly cloudy. Above average temperatures in the southwest during the day and over most of the state at night.

  • Thursday: Eastern districts and Torres Strait: Partly cloudy, isolated showers. North Tropical Coast: Scattered showers. Western Queensland: Becoming cloudy, scattered showers or patchy rain in Channel Country. Above average temps in southwest, near average elsewhere.

High pressure system over southeast Australia brings onshore winds and showers in east Queensland, settled elsewhere. High moves northeast, keeping ridge over Queensland. Trough brings rain to western and southern inland Queensland, spreading eastward by weekend.

Region Round-up North Tropical Coast and Tablelands:

Max temperature 27, min temperature 12, wind speed 20-30 km/h easterly to southeasterly, rainfall medium chance of showers, partly cloudy with overnight temperatures falling to between 12 and 19.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Expect daytime temperatures to reach the mid to high 20s with light winds becoming southeasterly then easterly, near zero chance of rain, overnight temperatures between 10 and 17, and partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower in the north in the late afternoon and evening.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

The weather forecast includes maximum temperatures in the high 20s, minimum temperatures dropping to 12-17, wind speeds increasing to 15-25 km/h from the east to southeasterly direction, near-zero chance of rain except for a slight chance of a shower along the coastal fringe in the morning, and partly cloudy conditions prevailing.

Peninsula:

Max temperature: 30°C, Min temperature: 15-22°C, Wind: E to SE 15-20 km/h, Rainfall: Slight chance of showers, Cloud cover: Partly cloudy.

Gulf Country:

The weather forecast is for a maximum temperature of around 30, minimum temperature between 11 and 18, wind speeds southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the evening, with sunny conditions and overnight temperatures cooling down.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Max temperature: 26 to 31, Min temperature: 7 to 14, Wind speed: 15 to 25 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: Sunny.

Capricornia:

Mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 8 to 15°C overnight and reaching the low to high 20s during the day, light winds becoming southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the morning, becoming light in the late afternoon with expected little to no rainfall.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

The weather around the Carnarvon Ranges will be cool with morning frost possible, light winds shifting to southeasterly, with temperatures ranging from 5 to the high 20s, and a sunny sky.

Central West:

Max temperature: mid to high 20s, Min temperature: 5-8, Wind speed: light becoming 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: E to SE, Rainfall: None, Weather: Sunny.

North West:

Max temperature: Mid to high 20s, Min temperature: 7-11, Wind speed: Southeasterly 20-30 km/h becoming light then 15-20 km/h, Wind direction: Southeasterly, Rainfall: Sunny, Other: Overnight temperatures falling.

Channel Country:

The weather forecast includes maximum temperatures in the low to mid 20s, minimum temperatures around 7 degrees, southeasterly winds of 15 to 25 km/h, and sunny conditions with light winds before dawn.

Maranoa and Warrego:
