As a trough deepens, rain and storms are expected to blanket NSW, with some areas experiencing heavy downpours, while scattering across western QLD, VIC, and TAS. Meanwhile, humid easterly winds will bring additional showers along the eastern seaboard and the northern regions of the NT. In the west, unstable air ahead of a cold front will trigger showers and storms across WA.

  • Friday: Cloudy with showers in the east coast & northern Peninsula, isolated showers inland, rain, thunderstorms in Channel Country & North West, moderate to fresh winds.

  • Saturday: Scattered showers in some coastal areas and interior regions, becoming isolated elsewhere. Cloudy with showers in some areas. Above average overnight temperatures, trending well above average in certain regions. Daytime maximums near average, trending below in the southwest.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Central Coast and Whitsundays:
