Showers are expected in southeast Queensland, eastern New South Wales, and eastern Victoria due to onshore flow around high pressure. Tropical moisture moving south will bring rain and some storms to Queensland, South Australia, and southern Western Australia. High pressure will keep northern South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania dry, with a cool night expected.

  • Friday: Showers on East Coast, spreading over North Tropics. Showers inland west, chance of storm southwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere, some frost in southeast AM, near-average temps.

  • Saturday: Some showers on the east coast and inland west, with possible thunderstorms in the southwest. Below-average temperatures in the far southwest, near average elsewhere.

High pressure lingers near Tasmania, with a ridge extending over the state. Southeasterly wind surge moves north along the east coast, reaching the far northeast by Friday. A trough develops over western Queensland from Friday, moving eastward over southern and central Queensland from Sunday, weakening by mid next week. The high weakens and shifts into the Tasman Sea by Sunday or Monday, then moves eastward over the following days.

Max temperature: 27°C, Min temperature: 13°C, Wind speed: 20-30 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: High chance of showers near the coast, medium chance elsewhere, Other: Cloudy.

Herbert and Lower Burdekin:

Expect temperatures to range from the low to mid 20s with light winds becoming easterly to southeasterly, a medium chance of showers in the north and a slight chance elsewhere, and overnight temperatures dropping to 13-17 degrees.

Central Coast and Whitsundays:

Maximum temperature: 26°C, Minimum temperature: 12°C, Wind speed: 20 to 30 km/h southeasterly, Wind direction: Southeasterly, Rainfall: Medium chance of showers along the coastal fringe, slight chance elsewhere, Other: Partly cloudy, Overnight temperatures falling to between 12 and 15°C.

Peninsula:

The weather will be partly cloudy with temperatures between 17-30°C, light winds becoming 20-30 km/h from east to southeasterly, medium chance of showers near east coast in the morning, and near zero chance of rain elsewhere.

Gulf Country:

Mostly sunny with maximum temperature of 32°C, minimum temperature of 17°C, wind speed starting at 20-30 km/h from the south to southeasterly, shifting east to southeasterly at 15-25 km/h in the early afternoon, and finally becoming south to southeasterly in the late afternoon, with overnight temperatures falling to between 10-17°C and daytime temperatures reaching 25-32°C.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders:

Max temperature: 29, Min temperature: 10, Wind speed: 20-30 km/h, Wind direction: east-southeasterly, Rainfall: slight chance of a shower in the southeast, other: Partly cloudy.

Capricornia:

The weather will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, southeasterly winds of 20 to 30 km/h, daytime temperatures in the low 20s, overnight temperatures between 9 and 14, with no mention of specific max and min temperatures or rainfall expected.

Central Highlands and Coalfields:

Max temperature: 23°C, Min temperature: 7°C, Wind speed: 20-30 km/h, Wind direction: East to southeasterly, Rainfall: Slight chance of showers in the south, Other: Partly cloudy.

Central West:
