National

A high-pressure system is swooping in to calm the winds and clear out most of the showers in SW WA, SA, TAS, and VIC, leaving much of the country feeling dry and content. Meanwhile, up north in NSW and SW QLD, a few isolated showers are still crashing the party, thanks to some unstable air and onshore winds keeping things interesting.

Windy.com ACCESS 4 Day 2PM Rain and Synoptic

Friday: Eastern districts will get a sprinkle here and there, while the North Tropical Coast is going all out with scattered to widespread showers. Expect some east to southeasterly winds, which might get a bit sassy over eastern Cape York Peninsula.

Saturday: Expect patchy showers in the south and east, but the North Tropical Coast is sticking with its shower party. There might be some fog sneaking into the southeast inland. Temperatures are flaunting their above-average status across the state, feeling extra warm in the west and south.

Sunday: Showers will spread east with a chance of moderate falls – Mother Nature’s getting generous. Isolated showers elsewhere, with a hint of thunderstorms in central Queensland. Temperatures are still aiming high.

Monday: Showers might become the life of the party, bringing possible moderate to heavy rainfall and a chance of thunderstorms near the east coast south of Carmila. Minimum temperatures will stay above average, while daytime temperatures in the east take a surprising dip below average.
