National

A cold front is set to whip up strong winds and a chilly downpour across WA’s west and south. By day’s end, this front will spread its bluster to SA, TAS, and Vic, bringing more strong winds and showers. Morning snow will bid adieu to the Alps. Meanwhile, a sprawling high pressure system will ensure the north and interior stay hot and dry—clearly not interested in sharing any of that weather drama.

National 4 Day Forecast

Windy.com NEW ACCESS 4 Day Accumulated Rain and Synoptic

Thursday: It's going to be sunny and hotter than usual statewide. There might be a sprinkle or two on the east coast above Mackay, spreading out a bit more around the Cassowary and Daintree coasts, as well as the east Peninsula coast. Up north, expect breezy east to southeasterly winds, while down south, it'll be a bit calmer with west to northwesterly winds. So, carry sunscreen and maybe a small umbrella, just in case!

Friday: It'll be all sunshine and surprisingly toasty in most parts of the state. Just a sprinkle of showers along the east coast above Bowen, maybe a bit more scattered near Cassowary and Daintree coasts, and the east Peninsula. Expect some misty fog in the morning from Bundaberg to Atherton. Hold onto your hats in the southwest as fresh, gusty winds come blowing in. The temperatures will be way above normal, almost breaking records in the southern interior below Townsville and in the southeast, and still higher than average in other areas. Get ready to feel the heat!

Saturday: So, it looks like Queensland is getting a taste of summer in the middle of whatever season it's supposed to be. Expect some sunshine and warm weather across the state, with a chance of random showers up on the east coast north of Townsville. There might be some fog in the morning around Gayndah to Atherton – fancy! And don't forget about those fresh gusty winds coming in from the northwest in the southeast – hold onto your hats! Temperatures are soaring way above average in the south and southeast, breaking records in some areas. It's gonna feel like a sauna out there, folks! Everywhere else, temperatures are still higher than usual, so get ready to feel the heat. Stay cool, Queensland! 🌞🔥

Sunday: A sunny day is expected for most of the state, but there might be a sprinkle or two on the east coast north of Gladstone – so don't forget your umbrella, just in case! State

Windy.com ACCESS (Rainfall at 6 hour points over the next 24 hours, 10pm, 4am, 10am, 4pm)

There's a big air system being a bit of a drama queen over New Zealand, sending its influence to eastern parts of the state by putting a ridge in place. This ridge will stick around the northeast for the week. Meanwhile, a trough (a dip in the air pressure) is meandering its way across the south and will hit South East Queensland on Thursday. Another trough is eyeing the southwest for a Friday arrival, planning to cross the south and hit South East Queensland on Sunday. Each trough brings warm winds that defy the season, keeping things toasty across most of the state until early next week. Then there's a new high coming to South Australia next week, possibly ushering in hot, dry winds all the way to the South East Queensland coast by Monday. This high might then mosey over to the Tasman Sea, giving eastern Queensland a breather with gentler onshore winds by midweek
