National
Humid easterlies are on a mission, drenching central-east and southeast Queensland, plus northeast NSW, with heavy rain and storms, causing some serious puddle problems. These winds will fuel a trough, turning patchy rain into stormy weather for southwest Queensland and parts of western and southeast NSW. Meanwhile, a high will give WA a quick breather before another front rolls in to sprinkle the southwest.

National 4 Day Forecast
Windy.com ACCESS 4 Day 2PM Rain and Synoptic
Tuesday: The far west and northwest are kicking back with mostly clear skies, but elsewhere, it's a bit of a mixed bag with showers and thunderstorms popping up here and there. Watch out for a possible downpour between St Lawrence, Taroom, and Bundaberg. Central and eastern districts south of Mackay are in for scattered to widespread showers, with a chance of moderate rain. Winds will be light to moderate from the east-southeast, but don’t be surprised if they get a little feisty along the east coast and in southeast Queensland.
Wednesday: Expect scattered showers south of Mackay, with a sneaky chance of a thunderstorm south of Gladstone. Heavy rain might decide to crash the party on K'gari, while showers and moderate rainfall should start easing in the east. Isolated showers could pop up north of Coen, but it’s partly cloudy in the southwest and sunny elsewhere. Morning fog might try to play hide-and-seek, and the surf could get a bit rowdy, especially on the eastern coast of K'gari and the Sunshine Coast. Temperatures west of Longreach are likely to be a bit above average, with the rest of the region seeing pretty standard temps.
Thursday: Showers will be playing hit or miss in the southern and central districts south of Emerald, and there might be a few sneaky showers north of Coen. Otherwise, it’s sunny skies with above-average maximum temperatures, plus a possible cameo appearance from some morning fog south of Clermont.
Friday: Scattered showers will be hanging around in the south and central areas, with isolated showers up north. But don’t worry, most of the day will be sunny, with temperatures running above average, especially in the southwest. Morning fog might decide to pop in down south for a quick visit.
State
Windy.com ACCESS (Values are rainfall over 3 hours)
A high-pressure system is hanging out in the Tasman Sea, giving Queensland's weather a nudge before it starts drifting east on Thursday. Meanwhile, an upper trough over Queensland is stirring up showers and storms, taking a leisurely trip down the east coast. A surface trough near the central Queensland coast on Tuesday is kicking up the rain, winds, and seas, but don’t worry, it’s set to chill out by Thursday. Just in time, a new surface trough will make its entrance across Queensland on Saturday, with a weak ridge bringing up the rear.
