Humid winds are on the move along the east coast and nearby inland areas, likely bringing a good drenching—maybe even some flooding rain—along with storms for eastern QLD and northern & eastern NSW. Down in southern WA, onshore winds following a front will toss in the occasional shower, just to keep things interesting. Meanwhile, a high-pressure system will kick back and keep the rest of the country nice and dry.

National 4 Day Forecast
Windy.com ACCESS 4 Day 2PM Rain and Synoptic
Monday: Mostly clear in the far west and northwest, with isolated showers and storms elsewhere. Cairns to Yeppoon should keep an umbrella handy for likely showers, and from Cairns to Ingham, you might need a boat for the possible heavy rain. Moderate rain could also pop up from Cairns to Charters Towers to Proserpine. Winds will be east/southeasterly, with a fresh breeze along the east coast.
Tuesday: Expect a bit of everything—mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms playing peekaboo across some areas, while temperatures will be as varied as a mixed bag of lollies.
Wednesday: It’s a tale of two halves—sunshine in the west, showers with possible thunderstorms and rain in the east. Morning fog might make an appearance, and temperatures will be warmer in the west, with the rest of the state hanging around the average.
Thursday: Sunshine continues in the west and northwest, while isolated showers might try to dampen the mood elsewhere, particularly south of Mackay where they could get a bit more scattered. Maximum temperatures will stay near average on the east coast but crank it up above average elsewhere.
State
Windy.com ACCESS (Values are rainfall over 3 hours)
A stubborn high pressure system is hanging out in the Tasman Sea, sending a ridge over Queensland and pushing some extra moisture inland for fun. Meanwhile, an upper trough over Queensland is stirring things up with showers and storms, slowly making its way south toward the east coast. Not to be outdone, a coastal trough near central Queensland is trying its best to steal the spotlight, ramping up the weather before deciding to take it easy. And just when you thought it was over, there's a chance a new trough will drop by on Friday and Saturday to keep things interesting.
