National Synoptic Situation
Synoptic Situation for
QLD:
Looks like we've got a high in the Tasman Sea extending its ridge over the state, slowly drifting east and weakening the ridge. Meanwhile, a cheeky trough and cloud band are making their way into far western Queensland, planning to hang around for a bit before slowly sauntering east across the state from Wednesday. Keep an eye out for any stormy behaviour or heatwaves and remember to stay safe out there!
NSW and ACT:
Well, it looks like Mother Nature is playing favorites and giving NSW and the ACT some settled conditions thanks to a high pressure system chilling in the Tasman Sea. But don't get too comfortable, because there's a sneaky trough and cloud band creeping in from the west and south, just waiting to crash the party later in the week. Keep an eye out for storms and heatwaves, and remember to stay safe out there!
VIC:
Well, it seems like we've got quite the weather cocktail brewing over Victoria. A low pressure trough is lazily hanging out in the east, while a weak high pressure system is just chilling in the Bight. This is causing winds to generally blow from the south to southeast in the west. But hold onto your hats, because on Tuesday those winds are going to do a complete 180 and start blowing from the north as the high skips over to the Tasman Sea and a low pressure system creeps towards us from the west. And that's not all - this low pressure system is expected to make a grand entrance by crossing Bass Strait on Wednesday and Thursday, potentially stirring up some stormy weather. So, if you find yourself caught in the crosshairs of these meteorological shenanigans, make sure to stay safe and secure any loose items. It's always better to be safe than sorry when Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum.
SA:
Well, it seems like we've got a high pressure system loitering over the Tasman Sea, taking its sweet time to move eastwards. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough in the far northeast of SA is stretching southeastwards over eastern Victoria, also in no rush to move eastwards and clear out by Sunday evening. As if that wasn't enough, a high pressure system south of the Bight is shuffling eastwards and losing steam overnight and into Monday. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, another trough is gearing up to sweep in from the west early to mid week, bringing along a low pressure system for the ride across waters south of SA. So, buckle up folks, looks like we're in for some stormy and hot weather ahead. Remember to stay safe and keep an eye on those forecasts!
WA:
Well, it seems that there's a fancy trough stretching from the inland Kimberley to the west Pilbara coast. This could potentially stir up some wild weather, so it's probably a good idea to stay indoors and avoid getting caught in any stormy shenanigans. Stay safe out there, folks!
TAS:
Get ready to experience the thrilling rollercoaster of weather in Tasmania! A ridge is all set to take over the region until Monday evening, which will be like the calm before the storm. On Tuesday, a weak low pressure system will make its grand entrance, initially hanging out over the northern Bight before sauntering over to the western Victorian coast by Wednesday morning. This low is expected to loiter just northwest of Tasmania, while a high pressure ridge builds up over the ocean to the south on Thursday. So, hold on to your hats and sunscreen, folks, and stay safe amidst the potential storms and heatwaves headed our way!
NT:
Our dear friend the trough is causing quite the commotion in the NT, bringing with it some scattered showers and thunderstorms. As if that wasn't enough, it's also drawing in tropical humidity, making it feel like a sauna in central Australia. Brace yourselves, because this trough is on the move! It'll be sweeping through southern and central districts over the weekend, with another one hot on its heels for Tuesday and Wednesday. With all these troughs causing chaos, there's a high chance of some intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. So, if you find yourself caught in the middle of a storm, remember to stay safe and dry. And if the heatwave sneaks up on you, make sure to stay cool and hydrated. Mother Nature sure does have a sense of humor, doesn't she? Stay safe out there, folks!

It'll be mostly sunny everywhere else, so get ready to soak up some Vitamin D. Temperatures will be slightly above average in the south and up in Cape York Peninsula, so stay cool and hydrated. And speaking of heat, there's a severe heatwave cooking up over in the Peninsula, so be sure to take precautions and stay safe. Mother Nature sure knows how to keep us on our toes, doesn't she? Stay safe out there, folks!
Wednesday, 27th November

Don't be surprised if you get caught in some heavy rain - it's all part of the fun! In the east, you might just escape with a light shower or two. If you're feeling a bit chilly, head over to the west where temperatures are below average. But if you're in the east, prepare to feel the heat with temperatures slightly above average. And if you happen to be in the Cape York Peninsula, well, you might want to consider investing in a portable air conditioner because things are getting toasty over there. Stay safe out there, folks! And don't forget your sunscreen - those heatwaves can be a real scorcher.
Thursday, 28th November
Get ready to dodge some raindrops and potential thunderstorms in the west and southern interior, folks! Severe thunderstorms could be crashing the party with heavy rainfall, so stay safe out there. In the east, it's a bit more scattered with showers, but don't let your guard down. Temperatures will be below average in the west, but heating up in the east. And speaking of heat, watch out for those severe heatwave conditions over at the Cape York Peninsula - Mother Nature is turning up the heat! Stay safe, stay dry, and keep an eye on the sky!
