National Synoptic Situation

Well, looks like we've got a trough and some clouds near the east coast making a run for it tonight. Meanwhile, a low is getting its act together off the Southeast Coast and is set to throw a tantrum on Saturday before calming down on Sunday and Monday. Down south, a high is throwing its weight around over southeastern Australia and extending a ridge to the west of the state. This ridge will be flexing its muscles over the weekend as the high slowly shuffles east. But wait, there's more! Another trough is gearing up to make its grand entrance from the Tasman Sea over southeastern Queensland on Monday, giving central Queensland a taste of the action by the middle of next week as a new high struts its stuff over southeastern Australia. So, buckle up and enjoy the weather rollercoaster ride!

Saturday, 28th September

Get ready, Queenslanders, for a mixed bag of weather today! We've got some isolated to scattered showers in the southeast, with a chance of thunderstorms and patchy rain in certain areas. Keep an eye out for those moderate to heavy rainfall possibilities in the far southeastern parts - you never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve with that coastal low. Elsewhere on the east coast and Peninsula, it's looking like isolated showers with mostly sunny conditions in the rest of the state. And don't forget about those winds - they'll be fresh and strong in the southeast, so hold onto your hats! As for temperatures, things are a bit wonky today. We're talking well below average in the southeast, below average in the south, and above average everywhere else. And don't even get me started on those minimum temperatures - below average in the interior but mostly above average elsewhere. Looks like Mother Nature is really keeping us on our toes today, folks!

Sunday, 29th September

Looks like we've got a bit of rain scattered about the eastern districts, and don't forget about those isolated showers in the Channel Country. But hey, at least it'll be mostly sunny everywhere else! Temperatures will be around average in southeastern Queensland, but above average in other areas. And don't be surprised if you find minimum temperatures below average in the interior, while mostly above average elsewhere. Time to break out the calculator and figure out what to wear!

Monday, 30th September

Prepare yourselves for a smattering of showers in southeastern Queensland and the east coast north of Townsville. Everywhere else will be basking in mostly sunny conditions. Get ready for temperatures soaring above the norm, with some areas even reaching well above average. As for the minimum temperatures, they'll be mostly above average too. Mother nature is certainly keeping us on our toes!

Tuesday, 1st October

Looks like Mother Nature is throwing a little sprinkle party on the east coast and nearby areas. Meanwhile, the rest of the state is getting a good dose of sunshine. Temperatures are feeling a bit extra in most places, but keeping it chill in the southeast. Time to break out the sunscreen and shades!

Region Round-up

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands

Region Forecast: Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive today, with a slight chance of a shower up in the Atherton Tablelands. But don't worry, the rest of us are unlikely to see any rain - it's basically a desert out there. Light winds will start the day before picking up speed and changing direction faster than a politician during election season. Overnight temperatures will drop faster than your hopes of a snow day, ranging from 16 to 21 degrees. Daytime temperatures will reach highs of 28 to 35 degrees, so make sure to pack your sunscreen and your sweat towel.
