National Synoptic Situation

Looks like we've got a weak ridge hanging out in the northeast of the state for a few days. Meanwhile, a trough is just chilling across northwest, central, and southeast Queensland, taking its sweet time to move inland. On Tuesday, it might decide to venture a little further into southeast Queensland. Then, get ready for some excitement as another trough struts its stuff across southeastern and central Queensland from Tuesday, bringing along some shower and thunderstorm action. To top it off, a high from the Bight will make its way over southeastern Australia by midweek, shoving the trough into central and southern interior parts of the state by Wednesday. A firm ridge will follow in its wake over southeast and southwest Queensland. Don't you just love the drama of weather patterns?

Tuesday, 8th October

Well well, looks like we've got some isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms popping up in central and southeastern Queensland today, south of Rockhampton and east of Tambo to Warwick. Keep an eye out for possible severe thunderstorms in the Southeast Coast and southern Wide Bay and Burnett later on. Over on the tropical east coast, we might see some isolated showers hanging around, especially north of Ingham and over the northern Peninsula. But fear not, my friends, for the sun will be shining bright elsewhere! Maximum temperatures are set to be above or well above average across most of the state, except for the poor northern Peninsula. And as for those minimum temperatures, they'll be near or above average, with a slight dip below average in the northeastern interior. So grab your raincoat and your sunscreen, folks, and get ready for a day of weather that's as unpredictable as your last Tinder date. Stay safe out there!

Wednesday, 9th October

Looks like some scattered showers and thunderstorms are making their way through central and southeast Queensland, but don't worry, we're not entirely sure where or when they'll strike just yet. So keep your umbrellas handy and your wits about you. Over in central Queensland and the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, there's a chance of some severe thunderstorms, but again, it's a bit up in the air at the moment. Meanwhile, up north, we've got some isolated showers along the tropical east coast, with a chance of things getting a bit more scattered north of Port Douglas and on the northern Peninsula. If you're out west, you're in luck - looks like you'll be enjoying mostly sunny skies. Lucky you. Temperatures are a bit all over the place though, with highs below or well below average in the southeast, but above average in much of the interior. At least the minimum temperatures are being kind and hovering around average. So there you have it, your daily dose of meteorological mayhem. Stay safe out there, folks. Or don't, I'm not your mother.

Thursday, 10th October

Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers in central to eastern Queensland from Charleville to Cooktown and the northern Peninsula. She's also throwing in some scattered showers near the east coast and southeast, just to keep things interesting. Watch out for isolated thunderstorms in the southern Central Highlands - looks like someone forgot to take their umbrella! But don't worry, Mother Nature is still giving us some sunshine in the west to balance things out. Maximum temperatures are below average in the southeast and central Queensland, but don't fret - they're trending above average in the west and north. As for minimum temperatures, they're just hanging out near average, not causing any trouble. So grab your raincoat and sunglasses, folks - it's going to be a wild ride!

Friday, 11th October

Prepare yourselves for some isolated showers in the central to eastern regions of Queensland, specifically east of Charleville to Cooktown and the northern Peninsula. These showers may become scattered near the east coast and southeast at times. By the weekend, expect these showers to extend into the western to northern interior. However, fear not, as the rest of the region will mostly enjoy sunny weather. Maximum temperatures will be slightly above average in the west, while minimum temperatures will tend to be slightly below average across southern and central Queensland in the coming days. Remember to pack your umbrella just in case, or simply stay indoors and enjoy the show from the comfort of your own home.
