National Synoptic Situation

Prepare yourselves, folks (oops, slipped up there), for a weak ridge lingering over the northeast of the state. Meanwhile, a slow-moving trough will be causing mischief across northwest, central, and southeast Queensland. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more exciting, another trough is set to strut its stuff across southeastern and central Queensland from Tuesday onwards, bringing with it some showers and thunderstorms. But wait, there's more! A high from the Bight is gearing up to make its grand entrance over southeastern Australia by midweek, shoving the trough into central and southern interior parts of the state. So get ready for a firm ridge to follow in its wake over southeast and southwest Queensland. It's going to be a wild ride, folks (oops, did it again).

Monday, 7th October

In the lofty realms of the North West and Gulf Country, we find ourselves faced with atmospheric conditions of a rather elevated nature.

Tuesday, 8th October

Looks like we've got some rain and thunderstorms brewing in central and southeastern Queensland, south of Rockhampton and east of Tambo to Warwick. Keep an eye out for possible severe thunderstorms in the Southeast Coast and southern Wide Bay and Burnett later in the day. Over on the tropical east coast, we might see some isolated showers, with a chance of them becoming scattered north of Ingham and over the northern Peninsula. The rest of the state can expect mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be above or well above average for most areas, except for the northern Peninsula. And don't be surprised if you feel a bit chilly in the northeastern interior, where minimum temperatures will be slightly below average. Just another day in the wild world of Queensland weather!

Wednesday, 9th October

Prepare yourselves, Queenslanders! Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in certain parts of the state. There's even a risk of severe thunderstorms in central Queensland and the Darling Downs and Granite Belt - but don't worry, we're not entirely sure when or where they'll strike just yet. Over on the tropical east coast, you can expect some isolated showers, which may become scattered at times north of Port Douglas and over the northern Peninsula. Meanwhile, those lucky folks in the west can enjoy mostly sunny skies. Temperatures are a bit all over the place today - maximum temperatures will be below or well below average in the southeast, but above average in much of the interior. As for minimum temperatures, they'll be near or above average. So, grab your umbrellas and your sunscreen, and brace yourselves for whatever Mother Nature has in store for us today!

Thursday, 10th October

Prepare to dodge some raindrops in central to eastern Queensland, from Charleville to Cooktown and up to the northern Peninsula. You might even hear a rumble of thunder in the southern Central Highlands. But fear not, for the sun will still be shining bright in the west. Temperatures will be a bit all over the place - below average in the southeast and central regions, but above average in the west and north. So grab your umbrella and sunscreen, and brace yourself for a day of meteorological madness!
