National Synoptic Situation

Ah, look at that high over the Tasman Sea, casually extending its ridge over most of the state like it's no big deal. And of course, we can't forget about that heat trough just hanging out across the interior, doing its thing. But wait, there's more! The trough is actually going to deepen over the southern interior and make its way towards southeast Queensland during today and Tuesday. Meanwhile, a new high in the Bight is going to extend a ridge into the southeast on Tuesday night, because why not add a little more excitement to the mix? Oh, and let's not forget about the trough moving back towards the southern interior midweek, just for good measure. And as if that wasn't enough, another trough may decide to make an appearance and move eastwards across the south of the state on Thursday and Friday. So, you know, just your typical week in the world of weather patterns.

Tuesday, 29th October

Prepare yourselves for some light drizzle in the east, Gulf Country, and Peninsula today. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms in the southeast and other regions north of Taroom and Hughenden, excluding the coast. The rest of the state can expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures higher than usual. Oh, and don't forget about the severe heatwave in parts of the Peninsula district - it's going to be a scorcher!

Wednesday, 30th October

Prepare yourself for some isolated showers in the east, Gulf Country, and Peninsula - because apparently Mother Nature hasn't quite made up her mind yet. And if that wasn't enough, get ready for some thunderstorms in central and southeastern Queensland, as well as the western Peninsula and Gulf Country. But don't worry, it's mostly sunny elsewhere - just to keep you on your toes. Oh, and did I mention that temperatures will be above average? Especially in the southwest, where it's going to feel like we're all living in an oven. So, basically, it's going to be a scorcher in parts of the Peninsula district. Stay cool out there, folks!

Thursday, 31st October

Prepare yourselves for some isolated to scattered showers in the east of Longreach, as well as in the northern interior, Gulf Country, and the Peninsula. Watch out for thunderstorms in central and southeastern Queensland, and in northwest Queensland north of Winton and west of Georgetown. It will be mostly sunny in other areas. Expect maximum temperatures to be above average, especially in the southwest where they will be well above average. Keep cool in the Peninsula district where heatwave conditions are expected.

Friday, 1st November

Prepare for some isolated showers and thunderstorms to grace much of eastern, central, and northern Queensland. These weather events may become scattered at times south of Rockhampton on Friday and Saturday. As we move into Sunday, the shower and storm activity might make its way over to western Queensland while calming down in other areas. Expect maximum temperatures to be above average overall, with some areas in the southwest experiencing temperatures well above average. Enjoy the show, Queensland!
