National Synoptic Situation

Well, it seems we have a high over the Tasman Sea extending a ridge over most of the state, while a heat trough hangs out in the interior. This trough will deepen over the southern interior later today and then saunter east towards southeast Queensland on Monday and Tuesday. A new high in the Bight will extend a ridge into the southeast on Tuesday night, with the trough making its way back towards the southern interior midweek. Keep an eye out for another trough possibly making its way eastwards across the south of the state on Thursday and Friday. So, buckle up and enjoy the rollercoaster of weather coming our way!

Monday, 28th October

The temperature is set to soar in the Channel Country and North West regions today. So, make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated to avoid becoming a human puddle.

Tuesday, 29th October

Prepare for some isolated showers in the east, Gulf Country, and Peninsula. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms in the southeast of Queensland and in areas north of Taroom and Hughenden. The rest of the region will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will be higher than usual, with severe heatwave conditions in parts of the Peninsula district. So, stay cool and hydrated, or risk becoming a crispy critter!

Wednesday, 30th October

Prepare yourselves for a day of scattered showers in the east, Gulf Country, and Peninsula regions. Don't be surprised if a thunderstorm decides to crash the party in central and southeastern Queensland, as well as the western Peninsula and Gulf Country. For those lucky enough to escape the rain, expect mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be soaring above average, especially in the southwest where it will be feeling toasty. In some parts of the Peninsula district, it may even feel like you're living in a heatwave. Stay cool, my friends.

Thursday, 31st October

Prepare yourselves for some isolated to scattered showers in the eastern regions of Longreach, as well as in the northern interior, Gulf Country and the Peninsula. There's a possibility of thunderstorms in central and southeastern Queensland, and in northwest Queensland north of Winton and west of Georgetown. Expect mostly sunny skies elsewhere. Maximum temperatures will be above average, especially in the southwest where they will be well above average. Keep cool in the Peninsula district as heatwave conditions are expected. So, stay hydrated and maybe invest in a good fan or two.

Region Round-up - BOM

North Tropical Coast and Tablelands

Region Forecast: Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit indecisive today, with a mix of sun and clouds on the horizon. You might want to grab your umbrella if you're venturing near the coast, as there's a high chance of showers there. Inland areas might experience a thunderstorm, adding a bit of excitement to your day. Be prepared for some easterly winds blowing at 20 to 30 km/h, giving you that windswept look without even trying. Overnight temperatures will drop to a relatively mild 17 to 23 degrees, so you might want to crack open a window for some fresh air while you sleep. Daytime temperatures will range from 26 to 33 degrees, so be sure to dress accordingly to avoid any unexpected sweating situations.
