National Synoptic Situation

Well, it seems like Mother Nature is up to her usual tricks again. A trough is causing havoc from northwest Queensland all the way to the central and southern interior. This trough will be making its way east across southeastern Queensland, disrupting our sleep late tonight and into early Friday morning. Meanwhile, a high pressure system is sauntering across southern Australia, casually extending a ridge over our state in the aftermath of the troublesome trough. As if that wasn't enough, a low is planning to crash the party in the Tasman Sea tomorrow, sauntering east over the weekend. But wait, there's more! The high pressure system will be making its way to the Tasman Sea on Saturday, where it will leisurely move east over the next few days. And just when you thought things couldn't get any more exciting, a new trough is set to make an appearance over western, central, and southern Queensland on Sunday. This trough will do its best to steal the show as it moves east and flexes its muscles on Monday, before finally giving us a break and moving offshore on Tuesday. So, buckle up folks, it looks like we're in for a wild ride!

Temperature and Rainfall Forecast - Access-G

Friday, 25th October

Looks like it's time to break out the marshmallows and fire extinguishers, folks! The interior of the state, along with the Wide Bay, Capricornia, and Gulf Country, are facing some seriously high fire dangers. So, be on your toes and maybe hold off on that bonfire you were planning. Stay safe out there!

Saturday, 26th October

Prepare yourselves, Queenslanders! Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today, with isolated showers in the east and Gulf Country District. The showers may even get a little wild and scattered in the southeast, so hold onto your hats. But don't worry, the rest of the state will be mostly sunny, giving us a nice break from the chaos. Just be warned, temperatures will be near or below average in the southeast and far southwest, but above average everywhere else. And if you're in the Peninsula District, brace yourself for some severe heatwave conditions. Stay cool out there, folks!

Sunday, 27th October

Looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit moody today in central, southern, and southeastern Queensland, as well as the Gulf Country and the Peninsula Districts. Showers may decide to crash the party, especially around the North Tropical Coast and eastern Peninsula. There's even a chance of a thunderstorm in the far southern interior for some added excitement. But don't worry, the rest of us will just be enjoying mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be near average in the southeast and coastal areas, but above average elsewhere. So, if you find yourself in the Peninsula District, be prepared for some severe heatwave conditions. It's like Mother Nature turned up the heat just to keep things interesting.

Monday, 28th October

Looks like central and southeastern Queensland, along with the North Tropical Coast and Peninsula Districts, will be experiencing a delightful mix of scattered to widespread showers today. Meanwhile, the Gulf Country can look forward to some isolated showers. And for those in southeastern and central Queensland, be prepared for isolated thunderstorms with the potential for some severe weather - how exciting! As for the rest of us, it will be mostly sunny, just the way we like it. Temperatures will be near average in the southeast and coastal areas, but above average in other parts. And if you happen to find yourself in the Peninsula or Gulf Country districts, congratulations - you're in for a heatwave! Enjoy the toasty weather while it lasts!
