National Synoptic Situation

Well, well, looks like Mother Nature is playing around with a high pressure ridge across our lovely state, thanks to a system in the Tasman Sea. This ridge isn't going anywhere for a few days, so get ready for some stable weather. But hold on to your hats, folks, because a trough is making its way eastward across western and interior Queensland. As it reaches southeastern and central Queensland over the weekend, we can expect some shower and thunderstorm action. So buckle up and enjoy the ride as we navigate through this weather rollercoaster!

Saturday, 19th October

Well folks, it seems like we've got some isolated showers and potential thunderstorms hanging around in northwestern Queensland all the way down to southeastern Queensland. Watch out for some serious thunderstorms in the southeast! The rest of the place will be mostly sunny. Be wary of those fresh and warm west to northwesterly winds though, they might just bring along some elevated fire dangers in the southeastern interior. Temps are above average south of Georgetown, and way above average in the Capricornia to the southeast, and in the interior. So, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the weather and maybe pack some sunscreen!

Sunday, 20th October

Prepare yourselves for a smattering of showers in eastern Queensland, the Gulf of Carpentaria, and the Peninsula. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms in the Gulf Country and eastern Queensland south of Ingham. As for the rest of the state, expect mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be higher than usual in most areas, especially in the central parts. However, in the southeast, daytime highs will be closer to normal. So, get ready to embrace the weather, folks!

Monday, 21st October

Expect a sprinkling of rain in eastern Queensland, the Gulf of Carpentaria, and the Peninsula. Don't be surprised if you hear a rumble of thunder in central eastern Queensland. The rest of the state will be basking in the sunshine, like a cat on a windowsill. Temperatures will be higher than your average Joe in most areas, especially in the central parts where it will be hotter than a jalapeño popper. Along the east coast, temperatures will be more chill, like a cucumber sandwich at a picnic.

Tuesday, 22nd October

Looks like we've got some scattered showers hanging out in eastern and northern Queensland today. There's a chance of a few isolated thunderstorms in the east, but it's a bit up in the air where exactly they'll pop up. The rest of the state is looking pretty sunny, though. Temperatures are a bit on the warm side, with some areas even reaching above average levels. Keep an eye out for daytime maxima near the east coast, they're expected to be more average on Tuesday. So, get ready to soak up that sun and maybe dodge a raindrop or two if you're in the east!
