National Synoptic Situation

Prepare yourselves, fellow weather enthusiasts, for an upper level system is bidding farewell to the east coast tonight. A feeble trough, stretching from the Gulf Country to inland southern Queensland, will shy away westward into western Queensland tomorrow. Meanwhile, a timid ridge in the northeast will flex its muscles and broaden over the east coast in the next few days, thanks to a high in the Tasman Sea making a swift exit. To add to the excitement, another tentative trough might saunter northwards into southeastern Queensland over the weekend. So, grab your umbrellas and weather-appropriate attire, as the weather show continues its unpredictable dance!

Friday, 11th October

In the lofty regions of the Gulf Country, North West, Central West, Northern Goldfields, Upper Flinders, Central Highlands, and Coalfields districts, we can expect some atmospheric disturbances.

Saturday, 12th October

You might want to keep an eye out for some isolated showers in the eastern districts and inland southern Queensland - east of St George. Showers will be hanging around in southeast Queensland south of about Brisbane to Toowoomba, with a chance of some thunderstorms joining the party. Don't be surprised if you see some isolated severe thunderstorms crashing the party in the southern Border Ranges, Granite Belt, and Scenic Rim areas in South East Queensland south of Boonah. Over on the northeast tropical coast, you can expect some isolated showers, which may get a bit scattered at times between Townsville and Cooktown. And don't forget about the far northwest of the state, where isolated showers and possible thunderstorms are making an appearance, west of about Julia Creek to Normanton. Everywhere else should be mostly sunny, with maximum temperatures near or slightly below average in southeast and central Queensland - but don't worry, things will be heating up to above average in southwest Queensland and staying near average elsewhere. As for minimum temperatures, they'll be slightly below average in central and southeastern Queensland, but above average in the western interior. So, keep your umbrella handy and maybe a thunderstorm playlist ready, just in case.

Sunday, 13th October

Looks like we've got some isolated showers scattered across most of the state, except for the central inland and western Peninsula. Down in southeast Queensland south of Hervey Bay and along the tropical east coast, those showers might get a bit more spread out at times. Keep an eye out for isolated thunderstorms in the western and northern parts of Queensland, west of about Croydon to Charleville. Otherwise, it'll just be partly cloudy. Temperatures are going to be above average in the west, below average in central and southeast Queensland, and near average everywhere else. So, basically, grab your umbrella if you're in the southeast, but don't bother if you're in the central inland or western Peninsula.

Monday, 14th October

Get ready for a smorgasbord of precipitation scattered across our beloved state, except for a few lucky areas in the northwestern interior and inland southern Cape York Peninsula. The east will be treated to a mix of scattered showers, while inland regions south of Longreach and west of Roma may experience some thunderstorms. Don't forget your umbrella if you're headed out, unless you're in the west where temperatures will be above average. Elsewhere, it'll be partly cloudy with temperatures hovering around average or slightly below.

So, grab your umbrellas just in case, and prepare for whatever whims Mother Nature decides to throw our way!
